And can somebody shoot a FT? This FT shooting is worse than the Cal coached Memphis teams.
^^ This! I'm certainly no apologist for Coach Jones' in-game ability, but there are literally 350 NCAA Division 1 basketball teams that have a team FT average better than today's pathetic performance by our Tigers. They shot less than 60% from the stripe!! Last time I checked, the coach is not allowed to shoot the free throws, but if he could, my money is on CJJ.

What I don't get is having a shot-clock violation coming out of a time-out.

Don't be a myopic sunshine pumper. Not all who post here are kids. Done are seasoned Tiger sports fans, some even former players.
The proof is in the pudding. Coach Jones seems overmatched, confused, indecisive, and simply bewildered at times. His lack of passion, anger and fire is disheartening at best and frightening at worst.
Here's a term for you. Situational awareness. Can you honestly say that this coaching staff knows what that means?

Yep, you would think that this was discussed in the timeout, but who knows.

Someone needs to explain to coach Jones that you can't rollover your timeouts to the next game..I'm know one thing for sure, is that Jones definitely leads the league in most timeouts not used in a game for a whole season...he can recruit but needs major lessons in the game itself...dale brown 2.0

quote:The sad part is Jones had anger, passion, and fire at one point during his time here. His first year here Jones was passionate. He took a roster of dog shite and pushed it as far as he could. It worries me that his coaching has actually digressed since season 1

quote:No I can't, but here's a term for you, free throw percentage!! Shaq shot free throws as well as today's performance! Absolutely pathetic and I don't give a shite what the coach did or didn't do. At some point the players have to be held responsible for their lackluster performance.

But can you honestly say this team has improved at all as the season has progressed? It's been the same inconsistent roller coaster ride since the start. That's on the coaching.

No, not respecting legitimate critique, perhaps born in frustration, and blindly taking the old " Go Tigers Go!" Stance is myopic and silly. If you watched the game today and were.not disturbed by the performance of our Beloved tigers, then you can't be a true fan, or perhaps, you are a newcomer to collegiate athletics.
Either way, God bless!

I've been following LSU hoops since about '78 and "disturbed" is an understatement of my feelings about today's game. There were so many parts of our game that were just plain ugly. Intensity. Focus. Attention to detail. Situational awareness. And it's the same issues that have plagued this team all season long.

On the whole, probably not, but this is the same team that just beat ARK on the road without one M. Again, I'm not apologizing for the coaching, but this team has shown zero effort against weaker teams this season and as I mentioned previously, if they shoot even Shaq-like from the stripe tonight they win regardless of the last 5 seconds or the brain fart out of the timeout. Less than 60% and that's with Patterson and Hornsby shooting 100%.

Name calling is a low class act. Ranting like you're personally offended is completely unnecessary.

johnny jones isn't a good coach.

Seriously, dude. It's not that important. It's not like it was a football game!

I completely agree with the name calling needs to stop in all sports, but he did cost us a game today. He gets paid over a million dollars a year to put his players in opportunities to succeed and win. He took every opportunity away at the end of the game. He is also paid millions of dollars to take the heat. I guarantee you he doesn't dwell on what rantards say. So who cares.

So I think Jones' in-game coaching is subpar but couldn't help but agree with this
