Mike Robichaux, DE opposite side of John Garlington. Came from Raceland. He was a lot of fun to watch rushing the QB's.
If I remember correctly, I believe he came to LSU as a walkon and earned a scholarship.
Garlington made All American, but I liked the play of MR more.

2 players come to mind in recent memory.
Josh Reed, all I remember about him was he caught everything around him. He also ran great after the catch. Very shifty and quick. I wish we had him right now.
Dominik Davis was a really solid running back. He ran with great heart and effort. He was Jacob Hester before Jacob Hester. He ran very hard with a lot of heart and also returned punts well.

I still like to go back and watch that pass he caught against Texas A&M and raced 80 yards for a touchdown!

randal gay, lost his starting job to the young guns jesse and corey then went on to have a pretty decent pro career so far, with a sperbowl ring and also had a great year for the saints this year

or Gaynell Tinsley an outstanding freshman end in '35 who helped lead lsu to a 9-1 regular season the first sec championship for LSU and their first ever sugarbowl birth

Nobody thought he would lead LSU to the MNC game, and he did.
Not true. Kige Ramsey and I each independently prophesied this before the 2007 season.
I think one good way (but certainly not the only good way) to look at underrated LSU football players through history is to see who had the longest NFL careers relative to their lowly draft status. John Demarie, Moonie Winston, Dan Alexander, David Woodley, and Eric Hill, are a few examples.
Also, you can't forget Kevin Mawae considering he showed up at LSU only weighing about 225 pounds or something ridiculous like that.
Looking at the issue another way, there are also players without NFL talent who get forgotten by casual fans, but who were automatic in crunch situations. Abram Booty and Allen Stansberry come to mind from the DiNardo era.

Won Biletnekoff the award for being the best receiver in the nation, so I don't think he could be underrated.

I hope this is sarcasm.
I'd say Ryan Clark based on his pro career. He was also a solid player in college.

Jack Hunt.......
He played reciever his 1st 2 1/2 years on campus. Then he was moved to Safety. After Roy Williams drug him around for four qtrs in the Cotton Bowl v/s Texas he was thought to be our weak link in 03. Instead he was one of our leaders and he helped keep our DB's in posistion as well. He was the mental MVP on our D in 03'

And whoever decides to say "and oh, by the way, he caught the winning TD pass in the Bluegrass Miracle"....save it. It's not funny anymore...
