Take away just a couple balls that didn't bounce their way that year and Miami could have easily been in the 2005 BCS National Championship game.

You must be joking.

VaTech 2007.

I was with my good friend, who came in from Arizona (Baton Rouge transplant). There were two guys just a bit younger in front of us from VaTech.

Just before half time, I peeked over one of the VaTech fans shoulders and saw him texting:

"I want to go home now..."

In no order-

LSU 55 - Florida State 21 (winner goes to the Orange Bowl) 1982

LSU 40 - Washington 14 (Top 10 team) 1983

LSU 89- Baylor 0 (they beat A&M, TCU, & Tulane)1908

LSU 40- Miami 3 (Top 10 team) 2005

LSU 13- Alabama 3
(The score doesn't indicate how bad a beaten this was, it was Bear Bryant 1st game @ Alabama. He refused to play us again for half a dozen years) 1958

I was on the fence about DukkeV's post, but then saw the quadruple exclamation points and realized he must be correct.

that arizona game was just unreal. I honestly felt bad for their team. They looked scared to go out there.

1982 LSU 20 U Alambama 10
Hadn't won in 11yrs against the tide, and beat them in Birmingham. D-line dominated their offense.

Football history??? When it really mattered. I have to say the 2003 SECGC against UGA!! ALL the players knew that the media was saying that the better team did NOT win the game earlier in the year. UGA had NO CHANCE IN THAT GAME!!!

Close second. The NC game a few weeks later against OU. They avg. like 600 yds per game and LSU held them to 152 TOTAL YARDS!!!! Boy that Saban was GREAT!!!!

Those were great wins against good teams in big games......but do you actually understand the definition of "dominating". Seems like you are making the level of competition a relative factor and not considering the performance of LSU itself.

In the 1st quarter, both defenses dominated. In the 2nd quarter on, LSU's defense continued to dominate. Alabama played good, the second half we had their number.

That was the first time a Bear Bryant coached team had been held to ZERO points and ZERO first downs in the first half. Their total yards by halftime was around 30 to 40. The only points they got was in the second half on a field goal and a kickoff return. They did not have a long drive at all.

Bear Bryant retired after that season.

That has got to be up there with the Georgia 2003 SEC CG, 2007 VT, 1966 Cotton vs. Ark. amoung others.

I remember sitting next to a VT fan at the game and a little before half time he said to his wife "this is gonna get ugly", I was like "get ugly???"

vs Auburn in 2003. I think the score was 31-7, but we jumped on them quick after a lightning delay and never let up. the defense was suffocating on cadillac and ronnie brown.
