certainly after he won the natty. people forget how lax Saban got after '03. hell, he didn't recruit shite for the '05 class. and there were a lot of LSU fans that were getting pissed at Saban at that time. but, because of his tenure at bama, sabans rep at LSU grows; both in state and esp. out of state.

By that rationale, he's also the guy who got the Saints a Super Bowl.

Because Drew Brees was begging Miami to sign him, and Saban took Daunte Culpepper instead. I remember how down people were when Brees left N.O. without a contract because everybody knew Miami was a slam dunk.

The 2 football teams I hate the most, Alabama and the Saints, have made my football fandom miserable because of that!
