It’s not about winning championships anymore. It’s about having a puppet coach who can be controlled.

In the early 2000s, Emmert and Saban sent these folks into hiding and we started winning championships.

The problem is that LSU isn’t in lockstep from government, school and athletic department. The school doesn’t realize how much they can benefit financially directly and indirectly from having a great program. Look at the transformation of Tuscaloosa has made from 2007 to now. Then add in a governor who once tried holding LSU football over politicians heads unless they voted a certain way. Too many cooks in the kitchen that all have their own agendas that don’t necessarily line up.

Emmett gets way too much credit for the Saban hire and Joe Dean ( can't believe I said that) not enough. Joe Dean was sitting around his palatial office when Sean Tuohy called because his partner in the Taco Bell franchise , Jimmy Sexton,, got a call from his client, Nick Saban inquiring about the job because MSU was dicking around on his contract extension after going 9-2. Joe Dean went up to Memphis and spent a Saturday afternoon making the deal. Mark Emmert had really very little to do with it. Big Beef Burrito Supreme had more to do with it.
