Going on the road to a BCS conference team is impressive enough to warrant the jump in the poll.

See Slackhouse's explanation. It's dead on.

I don't have Florida moving up for skull fricking Hawaii.

To be honest, Hawaii and Virginia might go into 4 OT's

Arizona beat Idaho by 70. They looked pretty impressive. They didn't get any #1 votes.

ridiculous

Florida beat Hawaii by 46, that's pretty impressive.

the cupboard is bare at hawaii, they're a mid to upper level wac team this year.

Heck, I think that LSU's win over App St. is more impressive than USC beating Virginia.

how?

the runningbacks at usc are filthy and sanchez is a good qb, it's hard to deny that.

Hawaii is not a BCS conference team and Florida had them at home. Virginia would beat Hawaii by 2 td's.

that's pure speculation based on the fact that they were 5 * recruits, the media tells you they are that good, and the fact that they killed Virginia???

Wow, good call. Hard to deny that.

C'mon man. Seriously?

FWIW, I have OU #1 and USC #2, but you can't deny the firepower in that lineup. And we already know the defense is beast-like.

No, motherfricker, after watching these runningbacks play you can see the talent. People are just really slow to give USC any credit because they're still pissed from the split national championship and by how much ESPN sucks them off.

I agree with the talent at RB. Not so much at QB. He torched Virginia. Whoopee frick.

He played shitty last year at times and playing this sorry team hasn't showed me enough to think he'll be nothing more than an above average QB.

He won't have to be amazing with the talent around him and with how good his defense is. Joe McKnight alone will make him a better qb.

That's all he needs to be. Were Mauck or Flynn any more than an above average QB? Krenzel?

Understood, but hh is acting as if he's Leinart and Palmer rolled into one.

I can't believe that there are 12 dumbasses that would vote Southern Cal #1. I'm guessing that those will be the same people complaining about them being #1 in the real polls

i voted them #1 and I assure you my poll looks nothing like the AP top 25.

That's a given. But like I said, I can't punish a team for having a weaker opponent. Virginia is not good enough for me to take that into consideration.
I didn't punish anyone, although I did actually get to see the teams play instead of going off of last year and speculation. I fully expect my top 25 to shift drastically up until about week 6 or 7

i don't care who you think should be #1. I have Oklahoma #1 for the reasons I stated earlier in this thread. They return the best quarterback in the country, 3 of their top 4 RBs and a very good defense.

I'm sorry that I don't believe that one game makes USC all of a sudden better than every other team in the world. Here's another honest question to you:

When USC loses to some crap team starting their 3rd string QB, will you drop USC below every team that looked better than them that week?

I had them #2, I had OSU at 1, with Beanie's injury, and USC looking a little better I flipped them. that was the most minor shift in my top 25, other teams dropped or rose drastically, and will continue to do so until they have played enough games to fully analyze them.

I think you are taking a little too much offense to people having USC #1, slack.

I am not reading all this, but I ranked USC #1. They teabagged a BCS school on the road. That was more impressive than the other big hitters (OU,OSU,UGA,etc.). It was an easy choice for me.

Lucky for me, if they prove otherwise, I have about 14 more weeks to change mind.

Exactly. Nobody should be upset about USC at #1. People need to be trying to figure out who gave Texas A&M three votes.

Could be because someone might have forgotten them at the 23 spot or something to that extent. Hopefully, it was someone that looked them over. There's no way 3 people kept them in the Top 25.

Oh, it wasn't me, fwiw
