The loudest game ever in Tiger Stadium IMO...I couldn't hear anything from the third quarter until the end..."Mauck, takes the snap...roles to his left...pressure coming...is hit hard as he let's it flyyyyyyyy...CAUGHT by Skyler Green in the back of the endzone...TOUCHDOWN...I DO NOT BELIEVE IT!!! got the chills now

It was so loud that my ears were still ringing 3 days later. People can talk about it being loud, but that was the loudest I have ever heard Tiger Stadium.

2 points about this game:
1. Loudest game everyone has witnessed, huh? well, you know what time it started.....2:30!!!!!!
2. All but 2 starters on defense that year (Jack Hunt, Lionel Turner) now play in the NFL.

Lavalais and Pittman/Kipps are not in the NFL either. Still, your point is made.

I don't think that was 2003. the starting D-line that year was Spears, Lavalais, Kyle Williams and Marquise Hill.

Pittman wasn't a starter. Kipps wasn't on the '03 team. Kipps last played on the '01 team.
Marcus Spears
Kyle Williams
Chad Lavalais
Marquise Hill
Cameron Vaughn
Lionel Turner
Eric Alexander
Travis Daniels
Corey Webster
Laron Landry
Jack Hunt
were the starters.

That is correct.
Believe it or not, KIRSTIN PITTMAN played some snaps as a DPR (designated pass rusher) in 2003 as a true freshman. The same Kirstin Pittman that starts for LSU today.

Yes, my bad....saw a white guy stomping around (#85 I think) and forgot that Kyle changed his number after that season.

This has been my only trip to B.R. for a game, and i must say it was a blast.
If i recall correctly, it was coach richt's first loss on an opponents home field.
Great atmosphere, great game. I can almost see little 'ol Tyson Browning running the screen right down the field in front of me. I can also painfully see Skylar Green catching that pass in the far left corner from my seats. I think what made that loss hurt so much was the fact that I went from being so high when Tyson scored on the long screen to being so low when LSU scored at the end. Damn that was a long ride home the next day!
I also remember Billy Bennett missing what seemed like 15,000 field goals on that day. If Georgia loses a close game under Coach Richt, you can bet your arse that 2 things are going to happen.
1. We will convert on about .2% of our 3rd downs
2. We will miss more than one field goal
We are taking a freshman kicker into the Bayou this year. Until Saturday, the only kicks he had missed were 2 that were 50+ and then against Vandy he left one wide then bounced another off the upright.
woe is us.
ETA: i think my favorite part of the 2003 trip was we got to B.R. around lunch time on Friday and decided to look around campus. When we got to the stadium, the field paint was being touched up and we just walked into the gate to check it out. I must say I will never, ever, ever forget that smell in my life. Old, dried up Bourbon. Even when noone was in the place.

What I remembe most was their defensive lineman David Pollack. He had this "thing" about dancing a jig on the sideline before every game. He did it in Death Valley that day also. I remind my friends here in Georgia that Pollack was dancing a jig before the game kicked off. But before halftime, he went limping back to the lockerroom.
And we didn't have to double team him like most teams did that year. Our OL handled hin man to man.
Despite his sideline antics, Pollack was a great player and a really classy kid. His NFL career was cut short by a broken neck. Fortunately he wasn't paralyzed. Maybe he'll make a great coach one day.
