Pretty cool to see these players finding out they are in. Kevin Mawae and Johnny Robinson deserved this.

No knock for Faneca this year. Soon though

They said on the radio that the discussion for Tony Gonzales and Ed Reed (I think?) took a total of 8 minutes. So discussion about the remaining players to get in on this ballet took about 7+ hours.
I think Faneca will get in eventually too.

Tony Gonzales is the best tight end of all time and it isn't even close. Ed Reed was the best coverage safety of all time (in my opinion) and it isn't even close. Belichick said hes never had a player wreck his gameplan more than Ed Reed in his entire career. And seeing Mawae's reaction made my morning.

last year I had to travel to Pittsburg for some work stuff. I had a day off and decided to trek over to Canton to see the HOF. It was awesome. I got really lucky and met some former players who were enshrined there. Including David Baker. That dude's hands were enormous.

What is the setting of this?
Were all of the HoF candidates at a hotel?

Yeah all of the finalists go to the hotel during Super Bowl weekend. Those that don't make it get a phone call, those that do get a knock.

I'm having my doubts about him being 6'9" though.
Randy Moss is 6'4".

The Pro Football Hall of Fame selection meeting has concluded. Longest discussions for the modern-era finalists were held on Ty Law (27:16), Tony Boselli (26:10), Kevin Mawae (24:52), Don Coryell (22:37) and Tom Flores (18:54). The shortest was Ed Reed (2:20).

I imagine the Ed Reed discussion consisted of everyone in the room going around and saying yes he's in.
