Les has built some good Will haveing you know, won an NC before.

National title does not make you immune to gathering strikes against you as a coach, especially when that was not the first time he showed chink in the armor.

That win was just as bad as the Coach O loss. Coach O's fate will be similar if that continues to be a problem, both in wins & losses.

It wasn’t. I disagree. I’d take an ugly win over an ugly loss any day of the week.

It’s not like we even had a moral victory last year. It was an ugly ugly loss.

Like if you were checking boxes, O would have 0 checks and Les would have at least 1 by “at least they came back and won”

It’s a better coaching job than losing.

I don't believe that Les did ANYTHING in that game except stand there with this thumb up his azz. You can call it a "coaching job" if you want and yes...we won the game...but he deserved to lose based solely on what happened in the first 3 quarters. The fact that the football gods smiled in his favor in the 4th doesn't change anything.

A win is just as bad as a loss. Well now I think I've heard it all.

What does O do in any game?

No one deserves shite. You get what you earn.
And Again, Les almost losing to try in 2008 doesn’t justify or excuse O (the guy who replaced Les ) losing to Troy in 2017. It doesn’t make it better, or acceptable.

Losing to a Sunbelt team is worse than beating them while looking like shot for 3/4 of a game.

Because we looked like shut for 4/4 of the game when we lost.

Every time a school has interest in a coach it is not public knowledge.

Yet you nitwits all keep screaming that nobody's interested in contacting Miles. If it isn't public knowledge, how the frick would any of you people know.

Nobody's interested in Miles because they haven't contacted him, if they did it would be in the news.

We don't know how many other schools may be interested in o or e. It's not public knowledge.

sure, you take it.

You also make note that the coach may not be the right guy to coach such a school.

O openly tried to get the Syracuse job and was out of football in 2014.

Do you think he was turning down any HC offers?

It's obvious that he doesn't really know the names. He's got a good argument. He's right. Aranda isn't the be all to end all so quit badgering the man.

Wins & losses are not equal and never will be.

But coaches can have bad performances even in wins.

Ricks post clearly says "if you could only keep one coach on this staff, who would it be?"

I think everyone agrees O was not the fan base's first choice. What's your point?

Except he really is.

There are probably 2-3 DCs out there as good or better, but I don’t think we could hire them away.

Venables isn’t going anywhere
Brown isn’t going anywhere

I don’t know the third name on that list.

He’s arguing a point that he won’t support or put a minimal amount of thought into.

So if he doesn’t actually want to discuss something, why shouldn’t he shut the frick up?

You also look at the big picture

Post Troy 2008 Les was 40-6 with a NC and 2 SEC Championship game appearances

Post Troy 2017, Os record was dog shite.
And I have Said that he’s doing a much better job this year, and I am always open to admitting improvement.

So it's your position that there's not another DC to call the defensive side of the ball. You go irrational every time. I guarantee you that if Aranda, God forbid, left LSU would find another DC to come run the defense.

Of course we would find a DC.

Someone would fill the position.

Would he be as good or better? I dont Think so.

I dont know who would fit that bill. A lot of these great young defensive minds are HCs somewhere.

welp there you go...Joe is a great AD

I wouldn't go that far. But I do give him credit for realizing that retaining Aranda was paramount to Joe keeping his job.

Joe had a head start on every other college program to bring a big name coach to LSU and he ended up hiring Miles DL coach. He has to realize that him and o are tied at the hip and if the football program crashes and burns, his job as the AD probably goes down in flames as well.

So what do you do? You throw the bank at one of the best defensive coordinators in the game. That's what Joe did.
