how did we get Aranda? you telling me he is the last great defensive mind out there?

I'm saying our staff either doesn't think there is that guy out there that's better, or doesn't think they're competent enough to find him. Those are the only two reasons why we would give him that type of raise.

for the amount of money we are willing to pay a DC we could entice almost anyone to come

1. Les got fired and deserved to get fired.

2. Yes there were years Les sucked

3. He didn’t suck most years and had better records against better schedules 7/10 years.

So, yeah I can like Les 2005-2013 and still think o going 9-4 with our weak arse schedule last year sucked.

Who name names

Who do you think is as Good a DC as Aranda?

I think Michigan would match for Brown, Florida for Grantham, and the. I start Wondering who would be an upgrade.

I think Shoopnis benefitting from elite players right now. And then a lot of the top defenses have elite Defensive Minded HCs.

The OP claimed Orgeron has done an "outstanding" job. Not sure how that degraded into trashing Aranda by people who seem to want to defend O. Orgeron is the head coach. He gets credit/blame for everything. If you're trashing Aranda you're trashing Orgeron.

The best you can say is the jury is still out with regard to the decision to make Ensminger OC. If that move is truly proof of "outstanding" work, it shouldn't be this debatable. Doesn't mean we won't get there. It's just too soon to crown Orgeron.

I just want to know who are these DCs you think would be an upgrade from Aranda if he were to leave.

why does it have to be an upgrade? why not the same results for less money?

Who did we get more bang for a buck with...Chavis or Aranda?

Who cares about bang for the buck?

We could pay a middle of the road DC less than half what Aranda makes and have a better ROO and a worse team.

But name names who could replace Aranda with no drop off? Because we need the defense to be at least this good.

I think anyone who has a defense ranked higher than ours with less talent would be a candidate...you don't think there are any out there that meet that criteria?

I mean if you think Aranda is the only defensive genius out there just say it...I am saying he isn't. I don't want to lose him but I don't think we will suck defensively without him. Wisconsin didn't become terrible when they lost him

Because I think you’re Wrong.

I think He’s the best we can get, anyone as good or better is either a. A HC or b. Employed by a school that could match our offer.

A les Miles team once went down 31-3 to Troy

I might be mistaken, but I remember LSU winning that game 40-31. Now I'll admit that LSU looked like shite for 3 quarters, but since they had more points at the end of the game, it's still considered a win.

I don't know if you didn't comprehend what I was saying to broadcaster or if you just wanted to reply to my post so we could have bonding time. But broadcaster said in his post, "Saban and Miles they also have a Troy like loss on their resume."

That's why I asked him, or her, to list Miles "Troy like loss" so we could debate it. Nothing was said about Saban or Miles being down to an inferior opponent, but winning the game in the fourth quarter. Broadcaster said a "loss."

If we have a colt David or Cole Tracy last year & not jack frickin gonsolin we aren't even talking about this

Well, if we're gonna play that game, if we would have had Ryan Perrilloux instead of the QB's that were used in that game, we aren't even talking about LSU trailing 31-3 against Troy.

maybe the guy that replaced him at Wisconsin since his defenses haven't fallen off from what they were with Aranda

Did they lose to that Troy team?

No.

So it seems like, in one of Les’ worst season, he was still a good enough coach to come back and beat Troy.

Oh you mean Justin Wilcox?

The head coach of Cal?

Because Jim Leonard’s (former NFL player and wisconsin alum) defense has fallen off. Also HC Paul Chryst was an elite DC as well.

I have no clue I just know that their defense didn't suffer when Aranda left. Interesting though how we have gone from #5 in 2016 to 14th last year and not telling what this year

We agree on that.

We’re currently 6th in scoring and 22nd in total. Please tell me who you want.

I previously asked you who did you think could come in here and do a better job than Aranda and you said about 4-5 guys.
