I was told on here after that loss that LSU didn't win because they were tired of playing in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
Problem solved by Coach Miles! LSU plays in Houston in the Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl ! Weeeee !

Not crossing the 50 yard line against Bama in the NC. Inexcusable and changes should of been made.

Shut up, dumbass. 13-0 playing for the national championship against a team that we'd already beaten and shouldn't have been there. Changes, dammit!!

OBJ fumbling that punt vs Georgia in 2013 was a turning point. That was a season we haven't seen in the 11 years. A test grader would discard it as somebody else's work. It was almost like Chavis was so used to pulling the weight that he relaxed a bit that year.

Did Mettenberger win any big games? I can't think of one.
Well, the TCU game was certainly big at the time, although ultimately it didn't result in any real accomplishment for the program. But Mett was lights out against a Patterson defense, showing that the QB drought seemed to be behind us, at least for that year.
The Auburn win in 2013 was also huge, keeping us undefeated heading into the big showdown with UGA. No one knew how good that AU team was at the time though, so that win doesn't seem to get enough credit.
The Texas A&M win after the Bama loss was actually huge too imo. We've seen how that loss completely derailed things the past two seasons, but getting that blowout win over JFF in Tiger Stadium showed the leadership at the QB position we need.
He was also able to rally the team after the huge heartbreaking loss to Bama in 2012. The defense fell apart, but Mett and the O actually exploded the rest of that month to go 3-0 against SEC opponents to close out the year. As big as the Bama game is, we've seen how important those other games are to a season the past two years. While they may not qualify as "big games", they are certainly all "big wins" imo. All SEC wins are.
It's interesting, but as good as Mett played in many games, I'd argue he had his two best performances in losses. The Bama 2012 and UGA 2013 losses he was an absolute superstar. Two HUGE games, and he stepped up and owned the defenses.
As a huge positiger and Miles supporter, I'll give the negas a break here. If we looked like that on offense, especially at the QB position, in our losses, I honestly don't think the criticism would be as heated.
Those were as much "good losses" as possible, and there was not nearly as much catastrophe syndrome in those instances as we see after the losses like this year and last year.
People were not completely rational after the Bama 2012 loss, but that was mainly because of the leftover frustration about 1/9. Most saw a lot of good on the horizon in the way we played that night.
Mett is definitely an interesting chapter in the book of LSU QBs

I remember their DC Venables taking a shot at our unimaginative offense in that game. I believe he said something like the play-action pass was our most complicated play call in that game. I was pissed when I read that, but sounds like he was spot on and can't say we've gotten much more complex on offense since then.

That game was everything wrong with lsu football at the moment.
Offense struggling while leaving the defense on the field the whole damn game.
Defense can not hold up all night when the offense isn't doing shite

This was, in every way, a soul wrenching loss. And now you have two teams going in opposite directions. Clemson playing for a NC and LSU trying to fire its coach (justifiably from the November tailspin) and unable to follow through, creating a monumental embarrassment.

As someone who has been critical of Miles since 1/9, I totally agree. The way I look at it, in those losses, LSU was competitive. I'm fine with losses as long as the coaching staff is putting their team in a position to win. Most who are fed up with the current regime perceive that the staff had no answer to beat the toughest teams on their schedule and were outclassed and never in the game.
Understandable against Bama somewhat, unacceptable against Arkansas and Ole Miss. Almost all negatigers with a few exceptions would have little to bitch about if the team was competitive, win or lose.

And yet LSU QBs need 3 years to learn the offense Bc it's supposedly a complex pro style. I don't know what to think about the offense except it's consistently awful.

The rematch with bama in the NC game!Les has given up to beat Bama. Just hope next year we can win the rest.

The offense is a fricking joke. There is nothing crisp or fluid about it. Its all about coaching and that falls on Miles.
