I was at the game where we threw oranges on the field in 82
The most memorable was an ATM game from the 80’s. I remember it because the linebacker from ATM made a tackle and threw his helmet off and blood was gushing from his forehead. I was probably 8 or 9.

Yea, that was pretty awful. I remember it being alarming as well as it was during peak AIDS hysteria. The sight of a player bleeding meant he had to get off the field immediately.

Maybe the players do, but the fans don't. The Tiger football team has a long inglorious history of poor play while wearing purple jerseys and gold helmets and pants.
