Something about being #1 in 2003 and 2007 and being the second most consistent team in CFB since... Some consider that a "decline." Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's mostly wishful thinking by SEC rivals and a few irrational LSU fans.

People have been penciling us in to fall off the map since 2005. Every year, the season comes, the season goes, and it doesn't happen so they point to the next year. At some point they'll be right, but for now they've been wrong for nearly a decade. And they're prognosis took a pretty major hit 30 months ago when LSU capped off the greatest regular season in college football history with yet another SEC title.

The Decline Outside of the 1 dominant season of 2011, our average final ranking since 2008 is 15th. That is a good program but not what rantards think.

After doing a little research, here are the best average final rankings since your precious year of 2008. I used the Final AP poll and assumed a generous ranking of 26 for any year teams didn't finish in the Top 25.

Bama: 4.3
Oregon: 6.5
Ohio St: 10 (1 unranked season with record 6-7)
Oklahoma: 13.2 (1 unranked season with record 8-5)
LSU: 13.8 (1 unranked season with record 8-5)
Florida: 15.2 (obviously misleading. 3 of 6 seasons unranked in that span with multiple shite teams)
FSU:16.2 (1 unranked season with record 7-6)

That's all I looked up. Please prove to me that LSU isn't Top 5 since 2008 by finding another team with a better final average ranking.

LSU's been great since 2008....since 2005...since 2003...since 2001.

Anyone that says otherwise doesn't watch much college football or is probably still not legally able to drink.
