An over half empty stadium full of mask wearers with no bands and no tailgating sucks. Mark Emmert needs work with Goodell to figure out how to make Late winter/Spring football work. The NCAA does have some leverage. Having the NFL play on Saturday and Sunday is a huge plus for the NFL. It’s members playing provides the film for NFL teams. Shutting it all down makes the draft more risky in evaluating talent. Hold the draft before the bowls. Baseball does it during the regionals. There are very few draft eligible players so talented that they will skip the season. Most players need to prove how good they are. Just think, watching the NFL this fall (they could play on Saturday and Sunday with no competition)!then rolling right into College football. Almost a year straight of football.

You can't guarantee things will be any different with covid than they are now, unless attitudes change and people just say screw it.

A spring football season would see roughly 14-16 of LSU's starting 22 sit out. No way those guys focus on anything other than getting ready for the draft. I wouldn't assume the NFL is going to move their draft either.

Why are we assuming everything will be back to "normal" in the late winter/spring? Despite the constant fear mongering, the overwhelming majority of people in the US aren't at significant risk of death from the virus as we sit here today. The virus isn't just going to magically go away in December. In fact, almost assuredly the media will be screaming about just how bad it is at that time because you will have both the peak of flu and coronavirus raging simultaneously.

Right now we are continuing to live with a "if it only saves one life" attitude. Before we get back to normal there has to be a widespread acknowledgement that we are all going to have to accept some degree of risk (as is the case EVERYDAY in life). I don't see the fearmongers letting us to get to that point any time soon

F that, I need sports now. I don't care if I have to watch from home, away from people, with a bottle of bourbon. Give. Me. Sports.

You see the beauty of sports is you don't have to listen to it to enjoy it. Play some wagon wheel in the background or sumthin, boomer.

Agreed, but it looks like we’re going to have to suck it up for one season. Tell your friends to wear a mask and get their shite together so this shite doesn’t linger into 2021.

A draft before the bowls? If you think 2-3 players sitting out bowl games is shitty, just wait and see how many would do it under this scenario.

The stands won’t be empty. TAF plans to fill in the empty seats (even if it’s the entire stadium) with mannequins dressed in LSU gear. Crowd noise from the ‘07 Florida game will be pumped in.

The NFL has been DEAD to me since BountyGate.

College Football is made by the players and game. The crowds, tailgating and pageantry are nice add-ons, but not essential parts.

Goodell already ruined one football organization; he needs to have no further access or influence over College Football. In fact, the NFL should take the season off, so that we can College Football on Sundays. The NFL can kiss my arse.
