As long as teams have a large number of opt outs, the bowl games are crappy. The opt outs make the games substandard.

The POST season non playoff bowl games don’t mean as much as they used too. Besides the players are getting paid and they opt out on top of that. I wish I was wrong on this take, but that whole “it’s a reward for the players” sentiment probably died 5 to 10 years ago!

Nothing stopping you from doing this. You can play a kickoff classic and a P4 game in the same year. Bama played FSU and Wisky this year.
