quote:In total agreement with you here. The real show will be the SECCG when the refs will have to do a totally impartial job in front of the entire nation (again). Anybody think they can pull it off? Or will this be an equal incompetence game where the refs blow numerous calls (and non-calls) against UF and UA, and thus fog their corruption and re-prove their ineptitude?
For those who don't "understand" how matchups can be created, you're incredibly naive. Just a call or two at the right moment in a football game is all it takes. These guys have been calling these games, sometimes for decades. Don't doubt that they know exactly what to call, when to call it and know that it will be "covered" by the SEC office.

This is so fricking stupid. Its either a bad spot or not. Don't make excuses for the shitty job the official did spotting the ball. Jefferson didn't run hard enough so he doesn't deserve the yardage he gained. BTW, isn't the spot a reviewable play? Why wasn't it reviewed? Oh yeah there was a power surge in the replay booth.

You're clearly a well-educated man who has a gift for writing, Mr. Warner. Beyond making several prescient observations about the current state of affairs in regards to SEC officiating, you constructed a well written, grammatically interesting piece.
Tip of the hat to you, sir.

Bama fan needs to enjoy this while it lasts, because, being that Florida represents the SEC's best shot at winning a national title this year, the Tide is about to be on the wrong end of a colossal screw-job by the officials in Atlanta on Dec. 5th.
The only thing I can hope for, is that now that the SEC office has got the matchup in Atlanta it wanted, the officials will stop arse-raping the other conference teams to Bama/Florida's benefit.

Chris...you have written the kind of formal letter, which the powers that be would deem a credible presentation of grievance, and worthy of their lofty consideration. Praises for such a worthy effort.
But just like PP's worthy effort, re that interception...he got screwed. So will your effort. Because the dirty and corrupt mf'ers up there, don't give a damn about fair grievance...or they would acknowledge the error of their way...and repent. They won't...they are corrupt, at the core.
What needs to be done, is like the 'Tea Party' movement; a shew of public discontent, in regard to an unacceptable and dangerous status quo. T-shirts, billboards, protests at the next "College Game Day"...shame em, and rub it in their faces until the HAVE to act. Call out Lou Holtz, and the enablers, who are owned like a street whore (whom I respect more; they aren't hippocrites). But I can assure you one thing...the way they are perceived by the public, MATTERS. In fact, to hippocritical, narcissistic, self-worshiping, unprincipled servants to the original king of the LIE
...the way they are perceived, IS all that matters. It's been so from the beginning...always will.
They have to be hit where it hurts. Your letter is a good start. Hope this thing don't just fade away.

One can only wonder what the league office will do with the cash.
I like this part. Maybe the league will establish a system where fines pay go to a ref fund. That way, the more biased the calls, the greater the fines, and it just creates a lucrative circle.
Very effecient and creative.

One thing I think needs to be changed is that officials should be taken off any game for a team which either is
a) Their alma mater
b) Within 100 miles of their residence
c) Within 100 miles of any place they have lived for more than 10 years of their life
As it stands now, only A is applied. So you could be born and raised in Tuscaloosa, a life long Bama fan - as long as you did not attend the University of Alabama, you will be allowed to officiate games involving Alabama.

dont forget D!
D) If you have big, googly, crossed eyes you will not be allowed to call a game.

You guys are funny.
Just two years ago, we would have won the game had not it been for a blown call on a catch by Matt Caddell. If that would have been called correctly, you guys win no NC in 2007.
Then there was the time two years before when an Alabama receiver was mugged by Corey Webster in the endzone.
Tough calls are part of the game. It surely didn't cost you guys the game Saturday night.
By the end of the game, you were a rough-upped, beat-up bunch.
The sound you heard after the game was the balance of power officially shifting from Baton Rouge to Tuscaloosa for the foreseeable future.
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Funny, you calling US funny. You guys have been crying like pussies ever since that happened. And probably will continue to do so for the next 30 years.
I swear, I've never seen a fanbase with a sense of entitlement quite like Bama's.

Win just one BCS crystal ball (not even a second - won't hold you to that), and then come back and woof at us. Until then, just prepare for the inevitable arse-raping you're going to get from Tebow in the Atl on Dec. 5th, and then Boise State in the Superdome. Because that's about the best you're gonna do for now.

One thing is for sure...we're gonna be a lot closer to that crystal ball than you are gonna be for a long, long time.
By the way, we do have one of those, and will have another to pair it up with very soon, thanks to your daddy, Coach Saban.

i've hated USC and all west schools that recieve special treatment. I've loved the SEC because it was a competitive, respectful conference that made the best team win the games. Now, unfortunatley i am starting to feel less and less like that. We are turning into them. It's very sad and really makes us look bad. Hopefully this doesn't continue but if it does SEC football won't be the same anymore

Not much mention of the interference calls. I feel this is the most telling. Both were out of bounds, and both should have been deemed uncatchable. However, only one of the flags was picked up. To me, that is blatant inconsistency. And those go beyond "judgment calls". If the ball lands several feet out of bounds, there is no judgment as to whether the ball could be caught or not.

Let me guess without even reading. ANother conspiracy theory thread--and this time it's stickied.
Edit: I was right.
Wasn't there a mod Sunday who said "There will not be multiple threads on the refs."?
