I bet you could have counted on one hand the number of people in the stadium Saturday night that did not believe in their hearts that LSU was going to punch it in there. All those BAMA fans in my section that got up starting leaving then will attest to that.

Would they have? The world will never know.

I'd say LSU had a better shot at punching it in from the 6 than BAMA did from 65+ yards out.

Was only really much of an issue given LSU having to kick a FG rather than scoring a TD on the previous drive. Had LSU punched it in, that 10 yards would have been far less important.

I think the ref called it because he pushed him after whistle, and throwing the flag on the guy who gets caught doing the shoving last is nothing new to football
But he wasn't the last to shove. As the ref throws the flag and is looking right at Vadal, #33 pushes Vadal in the back. But I am sure you'll ignore that too.

The SEC has to know the backgrounds of all of their refs and be smart enough to not allow refs to work games for the universities that they previously attended or reside by. As far as the scheduling goes an outside committee should be allowed to pull the scheduling together without any bias. Until that happens there will always be favoritism.

THIS...THIS...THIS. Why can't the presidents make this happen? The only ones against it would be AU and AL.

I used to agree. But I have my tin foil hat on now. This has happened too often. If it isn't a conspiracy, then the SEC needs to get new refs. They bitch too many calls in too many games. Is it really being a pussy if I want the best conference to have adequate refs? Is it too hard to find a ref that doesn't have a child attending one of the universities in the game?

I agree and I said this a few years ago when something similar came up. There are hundreds of fairly competent officials out there. There should be no reason that any official calls any game involving a team with which he has any sort of connection, even to the point of living in the state involving that team (like, use Texas people to call games between LSU and Ole Miss). Allowing the situation as it currently stands makes people lose faith in the integrity of the system, even it the errors or judgment calls are honestly made. For whatever reason, the SEC will not do this, which again makes the situation look like some favoritism is intentional.

The Bama guy misses the game tying kick you guys aren't even whining about the refs. But we need something to point at since it didn't work out that way

Actually this is bullshite. With all my sports teams, I comment on how poor officiating was, win or lose, even if the other team got screwed, I still point it out. Just hold the fricking refs accountable. If I made as many mistakes as Ritter has over the years, I would be fired. You would be too.

Have referees from other conferences call the games the way it used to be.

The refs.....egh as another poster said bad calls happen in teams season. But the scheduling is an absolute travesty. How this shite isn't on outside the lines and every Sports channel out there makes me know that the REC is paying them off. We get UGA last year when they are a top 5 team when Bama was supposed to play them. Then Bama finally plays FLA at the lowest point in the last 15 years of their program.

As I posted earlier, the scheduling becomes particularly hard to swallow, when the head of the committee in charge of it (Mark Womack) is a Tuscaloosa High Grad, University of Alabama grad, and former employee of the University of Alabama Athletic department. We get South Carolina and Georgia and Alabama gets Missouri and Kentucky. The bottom line is the SEC Office continues to have no concern about what should be apparent and obvious to most: At a minimum the clear appearance of impropriety and, worst case, clear conflicts of interest. But until someone has the balls to publicly call them out (we know it won't be Alleva). don't expect any change.

If we're going to wear tin foil hats, I'll add this. Ran home for lunch today. DVR'd the replay of the game on the SEC network that was showed at 9:00 this morning (I was in the stadium so haven't seen the TV feed). Somewhat interesting that the Vadal Alexander personal foul call was not included in the 2 and a half hour broadcast. You would think, in a game where there weren't a lot of big plays, one of the most important plays of the game wouldn't have been edited out. Kind of reminds me of the PP interception replay controversy, where the replay supervisor in the booth that day (Dick Burleson) was an admitted huge Bama fan. A few days after the game, his website, which documented his love affair with all things Alabama and Bear Bryant mysteriously was removed from the web.

Watch the replay from start to finish. During the live broadcast, I noted on at least four occasions there was pushing by Alabama players after the play had ended. And at least twice by Alabama's #20 on defense. No flags. No fouls.

Really, no conspiracy, huh?

While working in Birmingham the past two years, I have stayed at the Westin in Birmingham. Next to the Westin is SEC Headquarters...the Roy Kramer Building. Guess what is cate-corner to the that building...the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Something just not right about that. Cant figure it out.

Where the office is located has zero to do with a damn thing. Were there questionable calls? Yes. Happens in every game.

The best way to change the refs incompetence or bias is to not allow that crew back in tiger stadium

The University of Texas ran the Southwest Conference for many years, which led to the eventual breakup. The other schools grew tired of being taken advantage of by Texas.
Classic SWC lineup:

- Texas
- Butthurt school that ran away after blaming Texas for their problems and never won anything after leaving: #1
- Butthurt school that ran away after blaming Texas for their problems and never won anything after leaving: #2
- Aspiring little brother that never made itself look like a jackass like the two schools listed above and quietly realizes that they love being in a conference with Texas
- Church school that got lucky to get in the Big 12 and thanks God that they get to be in a conference with Texas
- Church school that worked long and hard to earn approval from Texas so that they could be in the same conference
- Private school whose ship sailed swiftly decades ago and will obey orders from Texas so that they still get to keep them on the occasional schedule
- Commuter school who publicly admits that it would kill to be in a conference with Texas
- Church school who publicly admits that it would kill to be in a conference with Texas and that they have no proof that Craig James did not kill five hookers while attending in the early 1980's

There are two schools who wouldn't rusty trombone Texas on command; the other six think Texas is a dreamboat.
