So Oklahoma was deserving over Texas last year?

blame the big12, not the BCS, for that one

texas didn't light the world on fire in their bowl game

And you can't tell me that the 2006 LSU team wasn't better than Ohio State.

dude OSU was MURDERING people that year, all year, and they beat UT by more than 1 score...on the road

Sure (at least as deserving). Paper beat rock beat scissors beat paper in the Big12. It was a tie. But Oklahoma's OOC schedule was much better than Texas'.

So now you flipped from deserving (OSU went undefeated and beat Texas OOC) to "best" team?

there is more than just guesswork

with some tweaking (namely SOS and adding MOV to select games), you can improve the system a great deal

but look at the success of the BCS. by many accounts it's 10/10 and at worst 8/10. no other sport has that accuracy

Everyone should quit worring about this. Congress is going to address this issue and if the White House gets involved we will have something in place by August regarless how many billions it cost,

It doesn't matter. Ohio State was more deserving.

I didn't flip. I've always said "best" team. I don't even know what deserving means. If it means winning the big 10, then yes, Ohio State was more "deserving." I'll never believe they would have beaten that 2006 LSU team. But we'll never know, will we?

It's the SEC. Brutal schedule. Go ahead. Argue that Ohio State would have gone undefeated in that conference. I'd love to hear that one.

No, and that's a good thing. By losing 2 games, LSU forfeited their right to play Ohio State that year. You want to play for the NC? Score more than 6 points against Auburn. Don't turn the ball over 5 times at Florida. There are consequences to not showing up in CFB. That's what makes each and every week so damn exciting.

Yes,and that Ohio State team would have lost 3 games in that SEC conference. They won the Big 10, excuse me, the Big Suck, and they get an automatic bid? That's crap. That's the BCS.

LSU had a really hard schedule that year

most SEC schedules are still more like 2-games in conference....sometimes 3. we just had 4...all on the road

would OSU have lost to Auburn? unlikely

To be deserving, don't score 3 points in a game and lose another game by double digits when the other team has rolled people and beaten a top team on the road OOC

The BCS is already a playoff. A 2 team playoff, which most of the time is all that is needed.

The current formula is solid as well imo. You wont see situations like Nebraska in 2001 anymore

every other sport is MORE accurate because the game is actually played on the field, not in a computer.

we'll never know if that #5/9 (depending on 4 or 8 team playoff) would have won it all either, now will we?

you wouldn't know anyway. Fluke shite would happen in a one game playoff as well. At least this way, you know a deserving team is going to be national champs

12 games is more than enough to tell who is the best teams in college football where there really isn't much parity
