Alabama would have as good a roster as this one.

Well, we know they could not provide a kicker. LOL

i think it was a couple of years ago, the sec rant put together an nfl roster of only lsu and bama players. the absolutely crazy thing is it wouldn't have been the worst team in the nfl. that is insane.

ESPN answers the question who can field the best 22 man NFL roster?

Looks like someone from ESPN reads tigerdroppings. The question that was asked in this thread was,

The answer from ESPN is LSU can field the best 22 team roster at this time.

Quote from article.

quote:

It's LSU -- thanks in large part to Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow.

Our panel of NFL analysts and college and NFL Nation reporters selected 22-man starting lineups of current NFL players from Alabama, Ohio State and LSU. The goal: choose a roster that is best suited to win the Super Bowl in the 2020 season.

Then each of our nine panelists (Andrea Adelson, Matt Bowen, Courtney Cronin, Turron Davenport, Jeff Legwold, Adam Rittenberg, Mike Triplett, Jake Trotter and Field Yates) voted to rank them.

The Tigers ran away with the title, earning six first-place votes.

You Decide which 7 to cut.

Would absolutely not want this job IRL

I’ll give it a shot:

-Guice (not a popular choice but I think I’d take Williams given their history in the league so far)
-Dillon - Already have speed in Chark, OBJ. Keep Sullivan as he can play TE and WR
-Badara Traore
-Adrian Magee

I’m assuming we’re playing a 4/3, so some LBs can go:

Thompson
Bower
Phillips

Kinda painful but there you go.

And don't forget about DJ Chark. He looked awesome last season. Seems like he'll be very productive going forward.

Etling is on an active roster where Mett is not. If Mett was on an active NFL roster then Mett would have been listed and Etling would be one of the players cut. The goal was to field a two position deep 53 man NFL team with active NFL players from LSU except for the punter and pk/k. Although LSU could provide a above average punter and place kicker. I don't think there is another college team that can field a full two position deep 53 man NFL roster. Alabama and Ohio State might have at least 51 players, but do they have enough to have a two position deep team?

You can't cut Etling because you have to maintain a two position deep team. You are correct in it would be hard to find the one to cut.

Etling is on a futures/reserve contract, not an active roster
