From the looks of things, lots of posters seem to think this is a magic solution.
Aranda is by far the most important part of our staff and, with possible exception of Raymond, the only one who might credibly be deemed "elite".
But, first, we don't know if he WANTS to be aHC here or elsewhere.
Second, despite his success as a DC, not enough has been done to consider whether he would be a top HC, if he accepted. I don't know enough about Aranda personally to assess this but would like to hear more from those who do. Being a head coach requires a lot more than just coaching players and recruiting (the latter being a possible weakness for Aranda). Being a manager of coaches , an organizer capable of developing/ implementing a football program strategy, a respected leader and a spokesman for the university are all parts of the job, as The Orgeron is belatedly learning.
I would like to see a principled assessment of Aranda's skill set for this, very different position. Anybody?

I can see it now IF he gets promoted to HC and IF he doesn’t do well, the same punks hollering for him to get the job, will be the same punks calling for the admin’s heads for hiring an “unproven” HC.

This is one of the few places one can get derided for asking a question.
And the foregoing posts reflect the level of curiosity about whether "Aranda as HC" is a viable solution. Clearly, he has no HC experience at this level, but he has excelled at what he has been asked to do.
HC is a whole 'nuther thing...

What comes around goes around...Orgeron was an active participant in the Miles coup.

Now, Orgeron gets to look over his shoulder at his possible replacement. Game on

I’d rather he have a shot compared to someone who failed horrifically at their only head coaching position

Should we hire Will Muschamp away from South Carolina?

Hey you dumb nitwit, Aranda doesn't want to be a head coach. He makes more money than most of them anyway.
