Annie Duke calls resulting, It's OK, it's a common mistake "simpletons" (to use your word) make all the time.
Another concept that seems to elude you and Ree is that reasonable people can disagree. So while it was perfectly reasonable to say the overall talent was good enough to go 9-3, in June of 2018 with question marks all over the offense especially at QB predicting 7-5 was also reasonable. Another thing that reasonable people can do is change their mind aka make adjustments as they get new information. June you will notice is roughly 3 months before the season starts, 2 months before camp. So, new information that could alter a view is very possible.
The same also applies this year. It is perfectly reasonable to think LSU will go 11-1 and make the playoffs. If they go 10-2 that doesn't mean the 11-1 prediction was unreasonable, given the information we have at this moment in time (August 18, 2019.

This is why I have the uncanny ability to predict events as they occur.
This happened before the end of the 1st game last season:
With about 4:43 left in the fourth I said to myself:
"Self, LSU is going to win this game 33-17.
And as usual I was spot on.

I'm still waiting on an explanation for this too and I think it's certain to assume there's many others here waiting as well. Unfortunately, it will be nothing short of a miracle if one is provided.
It's just sad that some here actually buy into his BS and think his fandom is genuine.
I guess we should just assume that he hates Les Miles and LSU Football during his tenure.

Most of us here don't either and we most likely never will.
He always points out Miles' shortcomings as a coach and he has the audacity to proclaim us all "haters" when we are just simply doing the same thing for Orgeron. So, it's a safe assertion to state that he hates Les Miles and LSU football during Miles' tenure.
He was absent during the most successful run in LSU football history, even though he had an active account here. Odd behavior for being LSU's #1 fan...
