This paper owned by Gannett is a joke. As as subscriber I am pissed. They did not have one article on last nights game. One the front page, it says to refer to b3. Well on B3 their was not a damn thing thing about LSU, But they did have an article on Thomas Jones of the NY Jets. Who gives a damn about TJ and the Jets anyway?

The Gannett owned NewsStar (Monroe) has an early edition they send out to other nearby parishes. Sounds like you got an "early edition".

The Shreveport gannett paper had articles on the front page of the sports section and then another full page.

We have a Gannett paper here. It's no longer printed locally, it's printed down in South Carolina and trucked in, so they don't have any late news.

While Alexandria has it's faults, this is definitely LSU Country up here. There is purple and gold every where on game days and there are tons of fans up here.

they just shut down the press in alex....they do all the printing in laffy now ... i know 3 people who had life long careers with the town talk get laid off...shame

The hell it's not!!!
However, the point about the paper is well taken. We do get the Baton Rouge Advocate up here in the machines. If they ever started home delivery in this area, the goddamned Town Talk could go to hell for all I care.
It used to be a good paper when it was independently owned. However, since Gannett got its hands on it, it went to shite. Damned thing is not even printed up here any more. It's printed in Lafayette.

One other thing to tell you how shitty the Town Talk was Sunday, not even stories about Louisiana College or Northwestern. Admittedly, though, I was pretty miffed that there was nothing on LSU Sunday, and goddamned little in Monday's paper. Not even a fricking apology for fricking things up!

Called the Town Talk monday morning. Sports reporter said the printing is now done out of town. They deadline is 9:30 pm saturday night. Said don't look for articles about night games on sunday.

Lafayette took over the printing. Your deadline is moved up. You'll get Guilbeau articles, but will miss night game recaps.
