High school used the same exact BESR bats as college. And now use the same BBCOR bats.

let's compare amateur athletes across 300 teams to pro athletes across 30 teams; yeah, that makes sense.

hmm, I wonder what the average bench press is for each team. I bet it's lower for college than mlb. stats only really work when all the variables are considered.

when you compare MLB bats to the current college bats they are pretty much the same.

there are two reasons why MLB has a larger HR per game average

1. its the MLB guys hit the ball harder there they are better at hitting are stronger are able to square the ball up better. It makes sense that they would hit the ball out more
2. the baseball less drag, not sure that would make a .5 difference though.

You don't consider that MLB guys hit the ball better then college guys so if they were even with HR per game than the college game would be easier to hit the ball out with, and if MLB guys used the same bat the HR per game would be over 1.

Wrong, the sweet spot of a wooden bat, although small, has a hell of a lot more pop than BBCOR bats

Why not just have them use the MLB wooden bats? Couldn't be worst than the "dead bats" we have now, could it and if its all about "safety" why not bring the fences in a bit?

Agree.
How many times have I stood up at the sound and appearance of what should be a home run only to see it fall 5-10 ft short. The bat change did severely alter the long ball game. But, the kids will adjust.

So, MLB wanted a truer representation of what a player could do with similar technology to theirs.

OP has determined thru research that infact, better, stronger, older, more experienced players that are brought in from a globe and paid millions hit more home runs when equipment is similar to amateur players that may still be going thru puberty.

Most teams don't have a single player that will ever see a major league ballpark, and we compare the two.

Legit.

So the major league players really aren't better. Whew.

The OP never compared to or even mentioned the 90's bats.
I'm pretty sure everyone realizes those were ridiculous.

The MLB hitters are the best in the world, who would have thought that?

College baseball needs just a bit more power back in the game.
I do believe the complete team should have the advantage, though.

But, if a pitcher gets hit by a line drive from a BBCOR.... It doesn't hurt... Only the BESR bats cause line drives to hurt.

I considered that just fine. I also considered pitchers have every advantage over hitters in college where as in the pros they don't. College pitchers have a larger strike zone, a gripper baseball and deadened bats to throw at. With only the bats being similar in MLB. That has produced less than half the amount of home runs in college now as MLB. Most people will say even the MLB game was better with more than it has now, and college has less than half that power. It's simply unacceptable baseball from a spectators standpoint.

Teams in college same to have adjusted well enough by now to the new bats and we see that at LSU for sure. Long gone are the days of stacking 6 foot plus 200 plus pound guys in the lineup. So the coaches have in turn made power numbers even worse because of the devaluing of the power game.

Once again, scouts can grade high school players out to be 7 figure contract guys without ever picking up a wood bat. College has wooden bat summer leagues to help scouts. Why did we need to change the bats so bad when the power numbers were so close to the professional product? It made the game much less exciting. That's really all it accomplished.

Maybe they are supposed to, but I highly doubt it's near as regulated and policed. I was at a high school tournament not too long ago and I can tell you those bats sounded nothing like the BBCOR college bats I hear in every LSU game.
