Pac-10 "beats up on" who? Tennessee? By how much? Gimme a frickin break.
Let's see. In 2006 Tennessee finished second in the SEC East but got spanked at home by Cal by 17 points. In 2007 Tennessee went 6-2 in the SEC and won the SEC East but got beat by 14 by Cal, who finished 3-6 in the Pac-10. This year Tennessee, the defending SEC East champ lost to last year's 5th place Pac-10 team, UCLA, by 3.
In 2005 Arkansas lost to USC by 53. In 2006 Arkansas, that year's SEC West champ, lost by 36 at home against USC.
In 2003 Auburn (5-3 in the SEC that year) lost at home to USC, 23-0.
In 2003 Mississippi State lost at home to Oregon by 8.

Apparently you are not aware of the head to head record of PAC-10 vs. SEC over the past several years. 10-6 or 11-7 is the record.

Just beat Ohio State, win your cupcake PAC12 title and you'll meet LSU in the real game. We'll settle it on the field and finally shut up you usc weiners.

LSUTANGERINE: You listed all those teams (ex: Citadel) as scheduling cupcakes. Don't forget when LSU scheduled them, VA Tech was to return a game to Tiger Stadium but stood us up to play USC at RFK and barely lost...so we had to fill our schedule at the last minute.
We play some teams like LA Tech and ULL to keep the money in Louisiana. They aren't close games. I know that USC narrowly escaped Fresno one year except that Reggie Bush made a fantastic move in the last few minutes (he actually stepped out of bounds but wasn't called) to score the winning TD. Kinda reminds me of how the refs turn their heads when certain teams are gonna get beat (see Auburn the last two times LSU has been there AND Ohio State this last weekend, block in the back!!!).

How does LSU rank with BCS teams that load up on Top-10 powerhouses, Top-15 powers, and Top-20 oponents?

Why do you think those stats have any relevance in comparing the two conference's power rating?
When the majority of wins for the Pac-10 are by their six-time Pac-10 champion against 4th, 5th and 6th rated SEC teams, what does that prove to you?
Last year when USC could have matched up with a legitimate SEC power in Georgia, the Trojans sure didn't lobby for Georgia. No, they were more than happy to feast on an undermanned Big-10 cupcake.

As soon as someone brings up "OOC schedule" in a contest of toughest schedules, they are automatically admitting defeat. The only reason anyone ever argues on an arbitrary, specific 1/3 to 1/4 of the schedule is because they know that their schedule -- considered as a whole -- sucks out loud.

quote:Virginia is nowhere near the caliber of South Carolina. Arkansas State would be a better analog for Virginia, as there is no similar SEC team. Virginia is just awful. Richmond held them to as many TDs as SC did (and their TD against SC was in the first quarter, so not a "garbage time" score against scrubs, either).
USC's win over Virginia is equivalent to a top SEC team beating South Carolina

quote:What are you smoking? Tennessee -- with the 4th best record in the SEC (behind Florida, Arkansas, LSU and Auburn) BEAT Cal -- Pac 10 Champs that year -- by 18. So, basically, that completely blows your point away.
In 2006 Tennessee finished second in the SEC East but got spanked at home by Cal by 17 points.

There is 1 flaw with these stats; the PAC 10 plays the SEC maybe once or twice a year
I would love to see USC play the following schedule plus throw in LSU
@ Auburn
@ Florida
@ South Carolina
Georgia
Alabama
@ Arkansas

Who said toughest schedules? We are talking OOC schedules. We all know the in-cpnference is the toughest.

What excuses can you give us for the Pac-10 producing a six-straight Pac-10 Champion?
Excuse #1: The Pac-10 is a Cupcake Conference.
When the majority of wins for the Pac-10 are by their six-straight Pac-10 champion against 4th, 5th and 6th rated SEC teams, what does that prove to you?
USC wants no part of the SEC's top tier programs: LSU, Florida, or Georgia.

I think the fact that a USC fan is a member of an LSU football discussion board (constantly touting USC's superiority btw), and has over 6800 posts here speaks volumes about the quality of USC's program, it's football team, and it's fan base...
In my humble opinion.

Why are people even giving usc credit for crushing virginia. It's virginia for god sakes. App St and Virginia would be a good game and if I were betting on it, I'd take App St. Just like last year the media hyped up Nebraska because usc was playing them. What nobody talked about was that nebraska was 5-7 last year. Also usc only beat 2 teams all year last year with a winning record. they have no choice but to schedule ohio state. everyone else they play sucks.

That would be four wins, the same amount LSU has against the PAC-10 in the same span. Take out USCs wins the this top conference knows as the SEC struggles to maintin a .500 head to head record with the cupcake conference you speak of. Take out LSU's four wins as well and the cupcake conference leads head to head by a wide margin

Born and riased in BR. STill live here and follow LSU's program meutrally but closely.
And I am sure I do not speak volumes about USC's football program or fan base.

Are you talking ancient history?
Try staying in the here and now--the 22nd century for a change.
Tell us how many times Florida, Georgia and LSU have lost to the Cupcake Conference this decade?
Can you count to ZERO.
Georgia wanted to play your Big Bad Trojans, but they went and hid behind the Rose Bowl Committe.
When USC isn't playing in their Cupcake PAC-10, they are beating up the Cupcake Big-10.

Every SEC school had a stronger strength of schedule than Southern Cal last year.
That is truly PATHETIC!
2007 Strength of Schedule:
1. Mississippi
3. South Carolina
6. Florida
7. Georgia
8. Kentucky
9. Alabama
11. Auburn
13. LSU
14. Mississippi State
17. Tenneessee
19. Vanderbilt
33. Arkansas
83. USC (mighty trojans in the Pathetic 10)
Checkmate!
