He has tremendous talent. Trying to find his mojo. If he does, watch out. Skenes, Floyd, Hurd, Little and 3-4 really good relief pitchers will do the job in playoffs and Omaha. Hurd is the missing piece right now. Hoping he takes a step forward tonight. We really need him to step up

Really hope that Hurd can start to perform the way most of us expected. If he can get his confidence back, look out!

It’s not great. He really has not found his groove since being injured. It happens to many pitchers, but I’d bet he gets it together soon. He has really great talent. Like 4 pitches. He’s the kind of guy that has to hit his spots. I believe it will happen soon. He could be the difference for us.

I think its mental, a couple of good performances could jump start him.

Disagree. With the emergence of Coleman i think we can do it w/o him

Do everything you can to get him right of course, but whatever we get out of TH is gravy

OU had a guy that sucked early in the year last season and then was damn near unhittable in May & June. That propelled them to the title series. Hurd could be the catalyst to nail down the title for the Tigers.

The SEC strike zone isn't helping anyone. Ump tonight is not one of those.

A walk per inning doesn’t tell the whole story. He has been hit all over the yard, and he also hits batters. It’s not the later innings that batters are getting to him, it’s right off the bat. Always saw more hope for Little to turn it around because he was so good early and isn’t coming off an injury. At some point, you realize that it is very unlikely that Hurd becomes something completely different as SEC play moves toward completion. Would love to see it, but I’m more resigned to hoping he just needs another year of continued recovery and experience.

Maybe he needs another year, but I’m hoping he figures it out this year. We have not seen the real Thatcher Hurd yet. I believe he finds it. Forget what has happened until now. He is trying to find it. The potential is there. If he doesn’t find it, so be it, but I’m looking forward to him pitching tonight. I’m hopeful. Can really help us with pitcher injuries.

He doesn’t have enough control to throw meaningful innings
