The head official of the SEC went on air and stated no one called in from the field. If it is discovered or proved otherwise, there will be people fired.

For sure…someone probably buzzed them but, if that happened, isn’t that reviewing an unreviewable call ?

That SEC official got really uptight when asked if the judgment was right. Makes me wonder if it wasnt him.

I’d it came from off the field head of officiating needs to be fired.

If not then the head of officiating needs to be fired for having such terrible officiating in every sport.

He went into the interview knowing that question was going to be asked and had a pre-determined answer. But, my question is why? In the pros and other sports, the head ref is much more honest in saying mistakes were made. I feel like baseball in general is the most protective of admitting mistakes.

I don't know if Paul Guillie is the one who made the call but he's the SEC's Coordinator of baseball umpires. I've known him since we went to school together at East Jeff in Metry, He was a clown back then.

Isn’t that typically retired officials commenting and not someone in charge of the current officiating? I rarely see active head officials call out judgements calls for being incorrect in real time.

It didn’t seem like there was a review, just a discussion. Which is a huge fricking issue.

How can they overturn a call based on a discussion if it can’t also be reviewed? How could anyone else see if Neal was in front of or behind the plate or standing on the plate? It was unbelievable to witness
