I think Ott was far, far better in 2011 than most people think. I'd go so far as to say he was criminally underused this year. Manieri got nervous after a couple of blown saves and really never trusted Ott again. As a result, innings that should've been Ott's (2.60 ERA) instead went to guys like Joe Broussard (5.19) and Jimmy Dykstra (5.48)

Kevin Berry is really the only one that stole innings from Ott. and it wasnt even that many

i dont think Broussard or Dykstra even had a save, much less a save opp

This is why you post on a board and PM is the coach. Eades is doing good on his summer team, and he has experience. He has a lot to offer. Let Nola go to the pen an get some experience

And this is why you post on this board and obviously don't see the change in college baseball that has happened. This is a pitchers game now and young pitchers at that. Did you forget that we had 2 freshman pitchers in the weekend rotation all season long?? Both of those pitchers did very well.

Nola and Eades both have great great stuff and hopefully will be great next season.

I enjoyed watching him play. As a Mariners fan he reminded me a lot of Suzuki. He would get a few men on and most the time he stop the bleeding but there were the days they got that hit to drive a run or two in, hope he does well at the next level.
