Those things would be pertinent if they applied to the Police Chief who was "hoping" from the outset to file felony charges against JJ.

What kind of "shitty pay" does Dewayne White pull down?

Good point there. I was thinking more about the guys actually out there doing cop stuff, and not in front of the TV cameras spewing crap.....

Jpb tiger, is your only defense "you are so mature". Since when did maturity have anything to do with most of us hating the racket that is traffic cops and dickheads?

When I find myself in an argument with someone who makes the statement "Cops are horrible human beings", then yeah - I can't think of any other explanation for such a blanket statement.

Instead, BRPD, playing for the cameras, had to go ruin two people's lives by charging them with a felony.

It was not the actions of the police that caused this incident but the actions of those who choose to participate in the actions.Without said actions, the police are not involved nor the media that some people want to blame.

Entrepreneurial law enforcement is one of the worst things our society has ever concocted. I still don't understand why so many people just support the status quo. I guess most don't think about it critically.

But you know, I firmly believe that law enforcement priorities could be pushed in the right direction if state legislatures simply passed law stating that all fines imposed by law enforcement agencies and any property/cash obtained by civil asset forfeiture went to third parties (schools, hospitals, state general fund, etc.) instead of directly to the police agency.

You would see an immediate change from a policing policy of seek the easy revenue generation violators to one that actively seeks out violent crime.

All police funding should come through the legislature and/or local municipalities budgets. Any chance for police to make money outside of those will result in a corrupted force.

It's simple, and yet our citizens are so fricking stupid.

You have said that to antone who disagrees with you, not just the one guy. Most cops are on a power trip. This isnt fricking chips or hawaii 5-0. They go out of their way to be dicks, its documented repeatedly.

I wonder if all the women raped by cops and people like rodney king agree with you.

I bet oj does

And their actions have actions that make the actions of actions force more actions. Action.

Believe it or not, I agree with this - I also agree with the guy that said this probably doesn't really belong on the Rant. Didn't expect this to be so controversial or last so long or I'd have posted on the OT. They seemed too preoccupied with Lindsay Lohan's boobies though...... I'm out....

There are police officers out there who actually do real police work and arrest and convict the real criminals in their community. These police officers are disgusted by the cops you are talking about more than you are, they literally ruin the perception of you in the eyes of the exact people you are attempting to serve. I cannot tell you how many times I have dealt with civilians and they look at me like I'm a fricking alien because I acted like a human being with them and didn't sweat the small shite. We are becoming fewer and fewer and being replaced by fat asses who jam themselves into those ridiculous stirrup pants and boots who sit at a no left turn in a middle class neighborhood just waiting to write their next ticket. I went federal a few years back to distance myself from local law enforcement because of the direction it has taken. I hope you run into a few real police officers but it is getting more difficult.

Some states are heading this way. North Carolina, I think, has already enacted this.

That would be a great point if it were true.
It isn't.

Actions of the police who immediately conducted public pressers announcing their "hope" to file felony charges were deplorable. Unnecessary. Inexcusable.

What was the rush?
What was the requirement to make arrests prior to completing the investigation? Were Johns or Jefferson a flight risk?

but the actions of those who choose to participate in the actions.
And for the record, the ONLY ACTIONS we know for sure occurred are those of the police chief and Lurch, his spokesman, styling and stooging in front of TV cameras.
That's it.

Is possession of the plant illegal or not?Did you know whether it is illegal or not? Anyone who knows something is illegal and does it anyway is an ignorant fool and should be locked up.Choices have consequences be ready to suffer the consequences of your choices and quit whinning.By the way, ignorance of the law is no defense.

that chief that was just on tv just finished his re-election campaign. All police officers should be ashamed by how they were represented by the BRPD. HOW MANY TIMES CAN I SHOUT IT! THEY HVNT INTERVIEWED THE BAR EMPLOYEES YET! THE KID STARTED THIS WITH FIRST PUNCH, HE HAS A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST HIM, END WAS THROWN OUT OF THE BAR.

BR has 6th highest per capita murder rate and they did DNA tests and got search warrants in a bar fight where no one spent the night in a hospital. Is this thread a joke. The brpd sure is....
