It isn't an "LSU chant" when only one section does it and the band stops playing multiple songs because of it.

Are you seriously saying the heart and soul of Tiger Stadium is hated by the vast majority of fans

Yes, their actions are absolutely hated. The student section was rowdy and was the heart and soul of the stadium a long time before these frick ups came along.

read my above post.... smack talk is not unsportsmanlike IMO and anything during a game is fine

But you want to stay in the stands after a game and sing that (game is over, move on)

As I said student section is student section... at any school, it is a different world.

Now you are playing the holier than thou card here

Both are classless by definition. But frick class. let us women worry about class. One can be classless without being trashy. People who try too hard to be classy are feminine, IMO.

Sure it is, no one else does it. I dont have a problem with neck or the chant, actually I love that shite. I just found it a little hypocritical for you to call rammer jammer classless when the chant during neck can be heard loud and clear throughout the stadium

You need to read the rest of the thread. I'm not defending what they do, it's trash. But it isn't endorsed by the school, athletic department, etc and they don't even play the song because of these idiots.

Rammer Jammer on the other hand....

I get what you're saying, but there is a pretty clear difference between a school sanctioned chant/song and a chant shut down because the school refused to sanction it. I think that's what he's getting at.

It's usually played during the last 30 seconds or so the game if they're running out the clock. Even if the game goes down to the wire, they usually play it right after the clock hits 0:00.

I see your point though and as an opposing fan, I probably wouldn't enjoy it. But hey, it's our tradition so who am I to argue with that?

I just don't get why people try so hard to incorporate class with the brutal game of football. Except for ole miss bc they have nothing else going for them. I mean, it's not okay to be trashy like Updike but come on.

FACT 1: lie. You cannot. You just gave yourself away, you can only hear it if you are in or near the student sections.

FACT 2: That addition of those words is a newer thing and not all the students in the student section even do it or know it. Your argument is fading fast.

FACT 3: I do not know Bama history, but yall have been singing Rammer Jammer for a while, again, after the game is over, to make fun of the losing team - ridiculous - by your whole fan base (not a couple of people in the student section) endorsed by your university. Done, you lose.

Didn't your mother or father ever teach you anything about sportsmanship - when THE GAME IS OVER, congratulate the other team (you can be happy you won, of course), but that is uncalled for.

Because we try not to be assholes? I never understood how anyone could actually complain about their fan base showing good sportsmanship.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know we were out there on the field actually playing. I'll be sure to take this into consideration next time

Get over it. If you don't want to hear it, perhaps you should leave the stadium or assure your team wins.

I'm not against good sportsmanship. I encourage it actually. But being a good sport and trying to use class as an insult are completely different. People resort to the class stuff and turn around and support something else.

How many UGA, Bama and auburn fans talk shite about honey badger? While they had handfuls of arrests on their teams in recent memory. It's more I do with the hypocritical nature of it all than this particular situation.

You equate The Rant to sportsmanship of a whole fanbase.... one is not like the other
