Did this happen back in high school or after he came here?

I would agree if we knew what he did was a fact.

Allegedly, I think it was between high school and here. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

Grand jury indictment standard is much lower than thevconviction standard. Let's see how this plays out before we back over the kid with the bus.

I see a report was received on August 22nd 2017 about the incident, so wasn't sure how long before that it took place. Obviously it did take place back home in Texas.

I will say at least Ed has handled the Taylor case and this one with a ton of class.
Unlike that team we play this week who has a damn good player who has had a felony charge against him since early last year he hasnt missed a game for and it's still awaiting trial.

I've just considered the kid kick off until said otherwise.

We do not know the facts

there's a reason they say you can indict a ham sandwich. And it's easier to indict a male than a ham sandwich.

Who is "ruining his life"? No one is saying he is convicted. He isn't and hasn't been convicted. I think people are just recognizing it would probably be wise to just cut bait at this point in terms of his career at LSU. It doesn't mean his life is over.

Why? He’s suspended and won’t be back until he’s cleared. If he’s convicted, then kick him off. They’ll probably plea it down to some misdemeanor offense and he’ll be able to get his life back in order.

My point is that it could take a very long time for one of these to happen. I do suppose we could give it more time, but there will reach a point where the program just has to move forward.

I mean... maybe. Not if the prosecution thinks they can get a conviction. There was approximately a year between when authorities were made aware of the allegations and when he was arrested. They were either really slow and incompetent or have been building a case. We shall see.

Agreed.
He was 18 for 6 months before this was filed.
It has to be some old high school baggage that's biting him in the arse.
Comparing him to Jeremy Hill isn't apples to apples, but Hill came back after sitting out his freshman year sorting out his "carnal knowledge" bs.
At least they can proceed directly to trial now and his hearing is set for Nov. 20th.
I hope they resolve this as quick as possible.
Would love to see him back on the field for us!
We could have some nice depth on the OL next season

If you read the article, the next court date is in 3 weeks.

First time offenders, especially young ones get plea arrangements every day. See Jeremy Hill for an example.

And indictment is simply a decision to proceed with the case. The key is there’s no rebuttal from the defense. It’s strictly an observation and review of what fax are available at the time. Long way from a conviction. However from a timeframe perspective I think he’s done.

Well being in Law Enforcement for over 30 years I can say with confidence that being indicted does not necessary mean he will be found guilty. I've had tons of people arrested and charged and indicted and still found not guilty. This is how it works with the Grand Jury; prosecutors bring their case and present it to the jury. No one from the defense team is present. Only must show probable cause to bring the case to trial. This ain't over my a long shot
