That being said, I'm still confused as to why Jeremy Hill didn't come in the fourth. You have to think that he will see a quarter of work against Idaho or Towson.

I'm hoping they red shirt Hill because they won't need him this year

but our OOC is a joke. Would it kill LSU to play two decent OOC games?

Did you just start paying attention to LSU Football in 2012? Seriously, we had the toughest schedule ever constructed last year. And we always seem to have a ranked OOC opponent on the schedule.

We play in the SEC. Nice to have a few games where we can rest starters. Other teams play patsies and don't have the conference schedule SEC teams have.

Which is why this year's scheduling seems a bit off.

I agree, it's not the end of the world...

until it is.

I know what you guys are getting at with bottom of the barrel teams, but everyone schedules them. IMO if you play a tough conference schedule like ours, there really is no reason to play a potentially ranked OOC team. We will be a top 10 team year in and out preseason as long as Miles stays here and as long as we're in the SEC, we'll play 4-5 ranked opponents.

If nothing changes we will face Alabama, USCe, Florida, Auburn, and Arkansas ranked, in our regular season games. There is also a possibility of aTm, and Miss St being ranked when we play them. You're potentially looking at 7 of our 8 conference opponents being ranked at the time we play them and realistically 5 of them still being ranked in or very near the top 15 at the end of the season. No other conference boasts that kind of power.

This conference with the edition of aTm and Mizzu will probably boast about 8 ranked teams in the top 25 at the end of the year.

LSU, Bama, USCe, UGA, FLA, Arky, UT, and at least one of the following:
MSU
Mizzu
aTm
Auburn

Seriously, this is talked about as long as TD has been around. Schedules are made years in advanced. Its not like LSU hasnt played any decent ooc team. UW is a bcs program. Its not that easy to get big names to come to DV. Everyone bitched ab having 6 home games last year, yet played one if the toughest schedules in the ncaa. If you want better games, we will have to play those chic fi la and ciwboy classics. And sacrafice having home games. At no time will 100% of the fanbase ever be happy with the schedule. Lets not forget we get to play the last 3 bcs champions every year. No one out side of our conference can claim that.

If Oregon didnt play LSU, they would have been to the bcscg 2 strait years.

Bama taught us that it is not necessary to play good OOC teams. And you only have to lose close against the best team. So LSU has a good schedule for a NC run.

Also I think it was very hard to schedule good OOC games this season with all the changes to the SEC we were unsure on what the schedule would really look like.

I'm not sure I'm willing yet to take that lesson to the bank, vis a vis LSU.
