Listening to the radio show and they are inferring that teams will avoid Greedy Williams. I understand that they'll attack the other corners more, but I don't know if he'll be avoided. As great as Peterson, Claiborne, and White were, teams still tested them.

Your best corner is typically going to cover the best receiver. Particularly if they physically matchup. Guys will get thrown at some, especially if the coverage looks favorable such as single coverage and no safety help.

Teams tested PP7 less than Claiborne and White because he was better.

Also Claiborne was across from Tyrann most of the year.

Right, which is why I don't understand the notion of teams outright avoiding him.

If Fulton gets cleared this season goin away from Greedy may be very favorable for our TIGERS!!!

That really depends upon the development of a second corner to force the issue.

Peterson was not really tested at all besides with Julio.

The amount Greedy gets tested will depend on Fulton as well.

He will targeted but teams will still avoid him. The other corner will be heavily targeted.

If this is true and Greedy is matched up against the other teams number one then that is a win in LSU’s book. Greedy won’t have crazy stats this year because eliminating half the field does not show up in the stat column.

They won’t avoid him.

Don’t forget about Webster. One of the best, ever!

He wasn't totally avoided either.

It was always my thought that if you putting ya corners on an island like we particularly do then yes you put your best corner on the other teams best receiver. But why not put your best corner on their second best WR and blanket their best WR with our 2nd best corner and shadow him with a safety over the top? They will force to their best receiver and we'll be right there with Delpit and Battle for picks all day long. IJS.

Teams will test him early this year but if it's anything like last year that will be short-lived. Kid made his presence felt against BYU and never looked back. Getting Fulton back would be ginormous if he's as good as we're being led on to think he is. Figure out the other safety spot opposite of Delpit and you're starting to border on the 2011 defense look with better LBs.

I think Battle is serviceable, at least.

He is but how many times last year did you see him trailing his guy for a big play or TD? It was a bunch. This is where I really wish Stevens would live up to his hype. He's obviously athletic as frick. He and Delpit back there would be nutso.

Moreso than any other CB I can remember at LSU. I remember being so frustrated people wouldn't throw at him because I felt like he had a 50% of picking it off each time

He was just so fricking good.

Julio got him a couple times, but PP wasn't burned, Julio just out-freaked him.

Texas A&M didn't shy away from him in the Cotton Bowl. This may be a bad example because he may have been protecting himself, but I remember Fuller having a lot of catches.

Those timing routes are tough and he played like 10-15 yards off on a few of those by design.

I'm not saying no one ever threw to him, just a lot less than our other star DBs.

They sure didn't. Fuller was getting away with pushing off on comebacks so they kept going to it. However, 7 catches for 83 yards and 0 TDs is hardly having a day.

No corner goes untested no matter how good they are. As others have said, your best corner will many times be on the other team's best receiver.
