He really didn't though, and Kirby has accomplished more than O if you take off the purple and gold glasses.

He's won the SEC and has a win in a the Playoffs, and has been more than competitive with Bama if you're into giving credit for close losses.

Having said that, I wouldn't trade his tenure for what we're doing now. O has the chance to emphatically pass Kirby.

That may be a world record for quickest downvote, I see you pirate king

Was the tweet not the exact idea alleva had in mind when he promoted O?

I would argue Kirby is in the better spot since his team is in the East, and likely won't play Bama in the regular season again for a long time (See the SEC schedule switch up with LSU/UGA and Bama/UK in 2013).

Whereas O will have to beat Bama twice annually if he wants to win it all.

With that, O still has yet to prove he can score on Bama. That should change this year, but our Defense won't stop them, so.....

He absolutely has more room for error.

There is a group of ranters who talk out their arse when it comes to Bama/LSU. They secretly want to lose to them each year so they can say all the absolutes they spoke about in season were true.

If we can’t stop Bama, they surely can’t stop us because our offense is better.

Kirby inherited a team that was on the cusp for years but couldn't make the final step.

Coach O inherited a team that was sliding backwards year by year especially in O & D line personnel.

I guess the D line coach should have done a better job...

ETA: And it's irrelevant anyway. The fact of the matter is Kirby at this point in time has more accomplishments than O. Sure he has an easier path, but he still did it. It's really not debateable. O has us going in the right direction, and obviously that head to head beat down is nice.

C'mon man. No LSU fan wants LSU to lose games.

Booger called Hayes out on the mat. It’s quite funny how everyone digs at Coach O for being a CEO/recruiter yet Dabo, Saban, Urban... basically the best coaches in the game follow that script. They hire good people around them.

Coach O been around this game longer than most. He has probably forgotten more than Hayes will ever know.
