austin was also quoted this week saying they are going to attack claiborne and if we leave him on an island they will burn him..
Does this fool watch film? Claiborne's shown to be the best cover corner in CFB right now.

Last year after UNC and WV I would have agreed 100% but we can move the ball on offense this year. I think all teams are beatable but we are much better than last year.

What's your problem with that quote?
It's true.

I've got no problem with the quote. I do think if that is where their mindset is then they are in for a rude awakening.
WVU should be prepared to play a better team than they played last year. That game had to be the sloppiest LSU game other than maybe McNeese.
ETA: I guess the "they're just like any other team" part irked me some. We aren't like any other team on their schedule.

ok I was wrong, sorry. It was Stedman Bailey, their other WR that is a speedster.
Link to the Quote Below
Sophomore receiver Stedman Bailey will certainly face a challenge from cornerback Morris Claiborne.
"He's a pretty tall corner and he looks to be pretty aggressive," says Bailey. They like to run a lot of man [coverage]. I guess they have a lot of faith in him that he will hold it down on the island, but we're going to get him."

Couldn't agree more. As much as they may have improved on offense, I believe we have improved an equal, if not greater amount all around.

We are not "just like any other team."
If that's the mindset they have then they are in for a serious

yes we controlled the game, but the score was close and they were still one play away from winning
The only reason last years game was close was due to poor QB play. Lsu dominated the game.

It's what guys on opposing teams say.
That type of rhetoric has been said since the inception of competition.

Playing big games like this isn't anything new to LSU.
Seriously! Try playing at Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, MSST (fricking cowbells), Georgia etc. on a consistent basis.
You guys are excited for something we see every week!!! Yes, homefield advantage will play a part in the emotion you guys bring to the field, but emotion alone won't get you a win.

When Chip Kelly and Dan Mullen are referring to you as the best team in the country, you would think that might humble them a bit.
I know it is always said, but I certainly hope Dana Holgerson doesn't think we are just like any other team. If so he may be in for a rude awakening.

What one preaches to the team, and what one says publicly are two different things.
OF COURSE you're not going to give the outward impression, as the 16th ranked team in the country, that you are playing a far superior opponent - even if you are.
That's why NSU can get away with that kind of talk, but WVU cannot.

It was 20-7 at one point. They made it close at very end of the gane. They were more than one play away from winning. They had to make several just to get back in it.

We are in agreement then.

Uh, it was 17-14 going into the 4th Q, where we only scored a FG. If they break a run or hit a pass in the 4th - we likely lose.
It was never 20-7, but we did run out to a 17 - 0 lead.
