Mett is clearly developing, and that’s good. But before we get too giddy, let’s look at how other QBs fared vs the Ole Miss defense this year…

Central Arkansas JR QB @Oxford
247 yds, 78.1% comp, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 157.3 rating

UTEP SR QB @Oxford
274 yds, 71.1% comp, 1 TD, 1 INT, 129.3 rating

Texas Longhorns SOPH QB @Oxford
326 yds, 82.6% comp, 4 TDs, 0 INT, 259.1 rating

Tulane FROSH QB @New Orleans
145 yds, 53.7% comp, 0 TDs, 3 INT, 68.7 rating

Bama JR QB @Tuscaloosa
180 yds, 73.3% comp, 2 TDs, 0 INT, 145.7 rating

Heismanziel FROSH QB @Oxford
191 yds, 65.4% comp, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 124.4 rating

Auburn JR QB @Oxford
112 yds, 61.1% comp, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 102.3 rating

Arkansas SR QB @Fayetteville
297 yds, 55.8% comp, 2 TDs, 2 INT, 119.9 rating

Georgia JR QB @Athens
384 yds, 75.0% comp, 4 TDs, 0 INT, 237.3 rating

Vandy SR QB @Oxford
267 yds, 57.1% comp, 2 TDs, 0 INT, 140.1 rating

Mett JR QB @Tiger Stadium
282 yds, 59.5% comp, 0 TDs, 2 INT, 112.7 rating

First LSU QB to throw for over 250 yards in 3 straight SEC games since Tommy Hodson.

Good point. That Ole Miss secondary is awful.

When Mett throws for 500 yards against the Bears - we'll start to take him seriously as our QB.

Not good enough. Bears defense just got torched by some rookie QB out of fricking Nevada. If Mett doesn't put up 800 against the Bears I'll be disappointed.

Not one of the QB's listed in the OP have Les and Stud retarding their progress and stats. Mett has overcome a great deal to be where he is at this point in the season.

His numbers would have been better than it was had it not been for a penalty wiping out a 50yd gain and a dropped td in the endzone

No one is taking into account that there is a rivalry aspect to playing Ole Miss. You can throw records and stats out the window. With the exception of the occasional arse whippin we put on them, this is typically a close game. The tigers did fine under the circumstances. We are a premier program and other teams will always give us their best.
