Spurred by the ‘Aramark Sucks’ threads: What kind of restrictions are there on campus for basketball tailgates? Can you pretty much set up wherever you want like the old football tailgating days? Any restrictions on beer/booze on a Thursday afternoon for example? I haven’t seen a lot of this for basketball games and wasn’t sure about it. In the spirit of showing some support for Coach Wade and the guys, plus refusing to give money to Aramark wherever possible, we’re gonna try and start doing this when we can. I think it would be cool to expand the LSU tailgating tradition into basketball. Curious if anyone has basketball tailgating experience to share. TIA

There was a time in the 80's where as a student you had to get to the Assembly Center very early (sometimes the night before) just to get in. I guess if you want to consider that "tailgating", then so be it.

As far as football-like "tailgating" for basketball games it's very rare if not non-existent. However, I suppose if you want to park your car and have a picnic (which is all tailgating is), then no one would really stop you as long as you aren't causing trouble or making a mess.

Tailgating is pretty much nonexistent for basketball. We tailgated for the Kentucky game with Ben Simmons and people were looking at us like we were crazy. Some LSU worker came by and brought us trash cans and said they weren’t paid to clean up after basketball so we had to make sure we didn’t leave a mess

I don’t think there are any restrictions as long as you clean up after you’re done

Tailgated at the Indian Mounds Lot for the Oklahoma game in Simmons year. Was a pretty warm day for January so wanted to be outside. A few others around us had same idea...no issues.
