We tailgate at road games at least once a year.
EVERY FUKING time we ask people around us if its ok to set up.... WHY????????????b/c we dont want to steal someone elses' spot. Its out of RESPECT.

Why should it be any different at home?
It shouldnt.

just bring some plywood and put it around the generator. It should knock down the noise pretty well

I don't disagree with that, I wouldn't setup next to a group play music with profanity if I had my kids(4 and 6) with me, probably wouldn't care if they were older. But what if I was setup with my kids first and a group sets up next to me and starts playing some crazy bitch?

except its not anyones spot. Until you pay money for a spot its fair game if they beat you out there. If your spot means so much to you then get out and put your stuff up.

whoever was there first for that week should stay is my opinion on it. If someone setup later on then id probably ask them to turn it down nicely.

they beat you out there by bending the rules, it happens and the next week you should get out there at 4 and set up.

that is the gamble of putting your stuff up that early. We set up before 4:30 a few times on the parade grounds but were still out there setting stuff up when 4:30 came around

whoa whoa whoa...you didn't set up one game..then why do you think that should still be your spot if someone set up the week you weren't there and was there the next..I understand it is big business to you and you probably have no problems because you are probably out there early Friday and stay but damn that is pretty high and mighty to complain when not there every week...

I do the whole tailgating thing. We collected money on a game by game basis and had probably around 40 to 50 on average at the games this year.

ok... parade grounds is a little diff scenario.
You have 20 acres to play on.
Our spot which is pretty close to there is for the most part big enough for 3 tents. We use the sidewalk and share this area with proably 3-4 others folks who have been there as long as we have.
Last season we had this

and a GTHOM sheet we hang up..

so as you can see those tree limbs come in useful.

So you missed the Tulane game last year and still expect people to move if and when you show up? Or better yet we will just assume you will be there and leave it open.

No matter how much money you spend on your tailgate and your classy effigies of opposing coaches the fact remains that you have never spent one cent on a spot in a free lot. You would think after ten years if you had some kind of claim to that spot you could have gotten a sign put up or something.

I show up when you're suppose to.
Fridays at 430.
WTF is your point.?

Obviously you didn't for the Tulane game last season.

My point is that if someone beats you to the spot then too fricking bad. You lost, try again next week. If you really get there at 4:30 on Fridays then you should have no problem finding another spot.

I just find it funny that you feel you are entitled to a certain spot when you have never spent a single cent on it.
