it comes down to people thinking they are important bc they charge dues.

We charged for our tailgate this year and yet we know that it isn't our spot and if someone beat us to it then it would be their spot for the game.

what if they are there at 4:29 and you are there at 4:31..I am just asking what you would do in that instance..would be cordgial to them or have it ruin your day and try to ruin theirs by doing something to provoke a confrontation..

First of all im not a confrontational person.
Luckily, I do have a knack resolving situations.
Most of the time if you treat people right they will extend you the same courtesy.

If they won't, well then strength are in numbers.. and as far as the situation Im in...

General Rules of Tailgating:

1) First come, first serve. Who gives a shite how long you have been there. I have tailgated in the same general area since the Dinardo days and if someone beats me to my spot, it is my fault for not getting their early enough.

2) In order to save a spot under rule #1, you must be there to claim it. Dropping off your shite and leaving it there should entitle you to NOTHING. Also, if you park your car in multiple spots in a parking lot and leave, you are an equal douche.

3) Roping off any area is selfish and stupid. Anyone who ropes off anything without being present should expect to have their ropes removed.

4) Anyone who plays music with profanity should be kicked off campus. If you want to be a gangsta stay at home and listen to your poor excuse for music. Soldier boy is not considered music.

5) Be polite to your fellow tailgaters and never be an jerk to our guests. Tiger baiting is certainly not considered being a jerk.

6) If you use a loud generator, it should not be pointed at someone elses area. Put a loud generator in the middle of your area so that other people don't have to be imposed upon for your stupidity. By doing that you will understand why you need to shell out the extra money to get the quite Honda generator.

see by your statment I get the idea you are going to try and get them to move and if they don't say we have more and you are going to move..thus proving you think you are entitled to that spot no ifs, ands ,or buts...

You should probably stay away from my tailgate then. And FWIW, there are songs that I play that curse, but aren't rap.

Depending on his attitude, I would have kindly told him to fu** off and take it up with campus security.

not true.

FWIW, I dont and wouldnt want to take anyone else's spot (espec if they have time invested in this place) no more than I want someone to take ours.
I know we all have different views of what constitues respect,,,,for me that is my POV.

complete different situation.
You are in no way in the wrong.

Where things get messed up is on the OOC games. Alot of people dont show up as they do for other bigger games, so generaly speaking all across campus there would be spots open that for the most part are not opened.
I think thats what happend to us last yr one time b/c we didnt set up for tulane.

It used to be easier b/c in the past majority of the people that attend lived in BR.... now most dont, so usually one game a yr we dont have a tailgate.

this is almost as wrong as bt thinking he owns a spot bc "50" people show up to his tailgate.

this depends on how the visiting fans act. If they get upset over tigerbaiting then its only going to get worse if they stay by us. If they laugh off the tigerbaiting and can actually have a decent convo then we will be nice
