far as im concerned you've discredited yourself.

#'s 1,2,3 are all incorrect and for the most part typical of somebody reading half threads and jumping in on a post late...as you just have.

and as for #4 ... get the frick over yourself.
I couldn't care less your opinions on the civil war, stars and bars, racism, what IYO disgraces LSU or ole miss.
Save it...
better yet, if you feel so fuking strong about it, stop by next season and express your opinion to me or any other of the folks that tailgates with us and see how that works out for you.

As far as being a jerk... if its "jerkish behavoir" to have a tailgating spot for a long time and want to keep that spot then yeah your are right... Im a jerk... one among many that taligate at LSU I suppose.
You do realize about 10 other people in this thread agree with me... ? of course you dont b/c you only read maybe half of it.

I would think that someone that took time out of his or her day to come and bitch about something, someone else is doing would be the person that has something to prove.

Once again pal... nice try.

well frick MO... why didn't you just say so.?

Im an easy going dude.. some of these people have gotten their arse or some fried/relative's arse ate out before and are still bitter about it...
that is why they are so strong about this first is first thing.
Anybody and everybody is welcome at our tailgate (except this ferriday frick and dude from TX)
I feed others and always offer beer to other fans and of course we break balls.. but its all in good fun.
Unless OM is in town.

I tailgate with BT. Say whatever you want but I bet the ones bitching are the little fricks that come over and want to eat our food and bum beer. SFP, if you ever set up in our spot, I will move your shite and be a dick about. Because I can. Then again, you probably aren't such a bad boy in person and I would let you bum a beer when you said "please, sir".

BTW......BT feeds half of the campus so be nice to him. He has probably fed you.

close, but the main ones bitching are the people that either
A) seldomly taligate and or have ZERO responsibilities other than to show up

B)have had their arse reamed for taking someones spot or had their shite moved and are still pissed about it.

I have never "bitched" in this thread but I have stated my point of view. I can assure that never since 1988 (when we began tailgating) has anyone reamed my arse for taking "their spot" nor have I had my shite moved.

My husband and I are usually the hosts of the tailgate we are at, but occasionally some friends will take their turn hosting. I am not a mooch and I can assure you that you have NEVER fed me.

You can believe what I have written but something tells me you won't. You see one point of view and that is yours and you are convinced you are correct and everyone else that doesn't have your point of view is a pissed-off mooch.

You have tried to convince people that you are a fun loving, friendly guy but you definitely don't write in that tone. So if you want people to believe you are a peaceful person and not a bad arse bully, you should change your tone on this board.

I would even like to invite you to one of my tailgates. However, I can't tell you in advance where it will be because we just show up on Sat. mornings and find a spot near the old front nine. We don't always have the same spot but we always have a great time.

thanks mom... but I really have my hands full on saturday mornings....preparing a taligate for a lot of folks just doesnt "happen" you should know that since you have been tailgating since 1988.

FWIW im not trying to convince anyone of anything. You have your opinion on this situation and I have mine.
There is nothing wrong with having a difference of opinion.
Actually I went back and read this whole thread... and other than 2-3 posts my tone was pretty much friendly other than the ones directed at 2 specific people that IMO deserved it.
SO lets drop it..we disagree, not the end of the world.

Well it is very hard to tell by just reading, but I'm reading this sentence and think it is filled with sarcasm so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I start prepping early in the week. My husband has a huge cast iron pot that he fills up almost every week with some cajun feast. We come home every Sat. night with that pot empty.

I guess I'm mistaken but I certainly thought you have been trying to let people know that you have a right to your favorite spot. If that isn't the point of this thread, please tell me what it is.

You (or anyone else for that matter) will never convince me that anyone is entitled to a favorite spot. Maybe I'm just as hard-headed as you are! I will never stop saying it is first come, first served. I know this is true because I read it in the Fan Guide.

no sarcasm intended.
Once again just diff of opinion.
Not entitled to the spot, but it is a priority to have it.

BT, I gotta give you props for keeping this thread alive and well since 4/19. How many posts do you have in this thing???

Interesting conversation. I can understand everyone's point of view, regardless of my personal one.

too many dude.

I could have told LSUmomma that LSU tailgating is a man's skilled profession and the she should butt out and go put the kids to sleep, but that wouldve really extended this discussion.

I can't find that anywhere in the fan guide.

FWIW, I side with BT mostly. We have a group of 16 of us that pay dues to provide a tailgate which incurs 200-300 visitors each Gameday depending on the hype surrounding the game. Last season we moved our tailgate to an area that was only recently opened up to tailgate in last season. We setup last season in the same spot every game, regardless of the opponent. We will do the same thing this year.

We have a 600 square foot tent, and an additional 200 square foot tent that we set up with a rather large soundsystem, satellite, grill, trailer, washers, etc. We need a lot of space. If anyone was in our usual spot before 4:30 on a Friday afternoon, and left their tents unattended, we'd move their tents because they have broken, not bent, the rules. I have seen LSUPD tear down rope/caution tape, and remove tents that have been setup prior to 4:30 numerous times. So, in no way do I see my actions of moving a random tent or two that was illegally placed in our usual spot as rude or classless.

If they were there before 4:30 and were still there, I'd let them know that they were actually violating the tailgate policy of the university and that we normally setup in said area every Friday before a game at 4:30. I'd also tell them that we have a rather large group of people that come by, and we play our music loud, have 5 kegs, etc. and that they might not want to tailgate around us if they don't like that kind of atmosphere. If they do like that atmosphere, hey, the more the merrier! We have no problem sharing the area with them, we would just give them full disclosure of what the atmosphere would be like.

Either way, no tailgate spot is worth fighting over, and if someone has taken your usual spot, ask them to make room to accommodate your tailgate with the area that remains. If they are unwilling to do so, blare your music at them ALL DAMN DAY with the little room you have. They are the ones who are being rude and classless if they are unwilling to share the space.

Oh boy, you are so damned funny.

I'm done raising children. My youngest is a senior at LSU.

I'm swearing off the rant and sticking to the food board.

What a bunch of neanderthals!

You are correct and I am wrong. I didn't find that exact statement.

I did find on page 7 this policy on parking spaces on game day.

"Parking on LSU campus is first-come, first-served, except in lots with reserved spaces."

I also didn't find where certain priveleged people such as BT had priority on their favorite tailgate spots.

But I'm sure there are many folks that feel this fan guide doesn't pertain to them.

I feel that the part about only having a 10' x 10' tent does not pertain to me

I travel lots for my job, sometimes weekends that include LSU games. It is what it is.

However, LSU football is as important to me as any person who has the luxury at being home for every Saturday.

I will tailgate this year & I will be damned if I am supposed to "wait & scout" these areas out. I am usually an easy going person but if I take the time to get there early... than the Krewe of Obama himself can take a flying leap because I ain't leaving.

Bottom line: First come, first serve
