Donte Jackson and Adams did not play good. I dont know what game you watched. Jackson was abused.

Adams plays so out of control. Saw him on 2 occasions come flying up and totally whiffing on tackles.

You might be right about Jackson on the whole. I remember 2 or 3 athletic plays that influenced my previous post-- one was a good pass break-up on the sideline. I might be giving him too much credit for those couple of plays. He might've been abused for much of the rest of the game and I didn't specifically notice it was him at fault. So, I can't say you're wrong.

I also see what you're saying about Adams being out of control. I think I remember at least one whiff as well... But I still also think he was in on a lot of tackles either solo or as part of a group, and was closing in on several other plays. So, I think you might be unfairly criticizing his body of work for a couple of whiffs in the same way I was overly complimentary of Jackson for a couple of plays. I don't think Adams played bad and could tell he was working his arse off... Regrettably, I think a ton of UWs offensive plays were getting to the second level and putting a real strain on the safeties.

but didn't see the clog I thought I would..
That's bc you and several posters on this thread don't understand Valentine's responsibilities. For the upteenth time, Valentine is not there just to clog the middle like some 3-4 nose guards do.

He has raw ability. He's quick and strong but does not shed blocks very well. He needs to learn technique-and he will. When he does he will dominate. Also that was a good oline that we played against last night.

Wisky's OL not great, but played over their level. Just wanted it more. Big V. Didn't pace himself early and shot his wad quickly, but he fought his arse off.
If we can't stop the TE in the flat on 3rd down we are in for a long season.
Still killing us.

He looked like a typical nose tackle most of the time. These guys don't have JJ Watt motors. They are huge for one reason. Every once in a while you get a freak like a wilfork or a casey hampton

Gilmore got consistently moved 5 yards downfield. Valentine on the other hand has 1-2 yd penetration to stuffing the line almost every play.

played a role in our offense not having a chance to find any sort of rhythm until sometime in the second half.

Lol no. The offense going 3 and out on the first two drives, and the same ole vanilla out of date play calling is why the defense was gassed.
