pj,
I'm not making an argument for the guy; I don't see much of a need for him. I would hope that if Mett goes down we pass the ball on to Rivers; and if we want a guy to run we have Randall. But I'm not against him being here for depth.
Just because we bring him in doesn't mean he will get valuable playing time. I think Les wants as many QB's as possible as a 'just in case'

I hope you are right. But I assure you that if Metts somehow struggles the least bit. Miles will play captain hook and bolden will go in.

Not a problem with me either. BUT I just don't want Miles to do what he did last year with Lee/JJ.

I think having 15% zone read/ passing attack would be nice. So wether it's Ware or this new guy Bolden it would give the defense more to prepare for.

Bolden's options will be (i) headset or (ii) clipboard.

But y'all continue to have your gaping count bleed all over the place about something that hasn't even happened yet.
And the same thing was said when I predicted that the offense would regress as soon as JJ took the starting job last season. I said this after the WKU game. Check the stats and the numbers. Lee had this offense rolling last year.
I think most LSU fans are being intellectually honest when they say they don't want to see a JJ clone losing to Bama next year.

All those defeats afterwards still hurt, right?

Watching the offense sputter against WKU, look inept for a good portion of the Arky game before TM7 took over, adn absolutely produce an abortion of a game against UGA, yeah it sucked. Do you know why?
Because we all knew deep down the asswhoopin' was coming from Bama.

I understand. It was a real bitch leaving Tuscaloosa back in November.
I sincerely do admire your 20/20 retrospective vision. I stand in awe of all of you that predict afterwards and bend things to suit your opinions.
Keep up the good work.

Because they were the second best defense we played and held us to a terrible first half.
Our offense struggled when we played elite defenses.

I don't have time to confirm this and I know the defense assisted, as happens on all great teams, but:
I would put pretty good odds on the consecutive 4 game stretch of scoring 40+ pts and 24pt margin of victory is unique in LSU history.
So what is this sputtering you speak of?

Isn't that true of any offense? Oregon? WVU? ArKansas?

Of course, my point is our offense struggled based on our opponents, not which mediocre QB was taking snaps.
Anyway it doesn't matter. Mett will be the starter and this is his team this year.

So this means that the team was NOT as good as the record indicated????
