re: T-Bob is talking about 1/9/12 conspiracies on WWL right now

Saban lost an easily winnable OSU game last year. It happens don't be such a dramatic little girl.
And TBob offers nothing, yet our goofy fans think something super secret will be revealed....4 years later.
We lost, it happens. We didn't do anything different because midway thru the 3rd we were in it and had won many games that tear dominating the second half. Didn't work out, tuck your kids in and watch the sun come up. It will be alright

The only conspiracy was the gumps being in the damn game.

I will say this - I have never in my life seen a team come back from half time the way we came back out onto the field. Barely anyone was pumped, it was disjointed with most of the players walking in small groups. Not a single guy had any confidence.
Whatever was said or done at halftime, it did not help at all. Even if it was normal halftime, the team did not beleive it had any chance.
An entire OL that was getting whipped all day yet they kept a senior that had played and started for four years on the bench instead of trying to see if he could offer anything. If he jsut beats the guy in front of him once, he was doing better then the other five the whole game.
I still contend that by trying nothing differnt and just hoping for better results on something that clearly was not working, Miles froze and quit on the team. Its not like we didn't have experienced options.

Definitely one of those instances where it's better to be just incompetent instead of crooked, but you are definitely either one or the other.

quote:The completion percentage PROVES that Jefferson was hitting open receivers.quote:Simply citing a completion percentage does not refute an argument that Jefferson was unable to hit open receivers.
At halftime of the BCSCG, Jefferson had completed 85.71% of his passes.
At the end of the third quarter of the BCSCG, Jefferson had completed 76.92% of his passes.
You have now moved the argument to state that Jefferson was hitting the wrong open receivers.
Moreover, you have offered NO support for the argument that Jefferson was unable to hit open receivers.
If you want to make either statement, then you have the burden of proof.
Go ahead. Support your argument. Show all of us the proof.

Yes, the gumps definitely did not deserve to be in that game. I know ESPN loves them, but if they and other media had not promoted a rematch so much and Okla. St. had gone as they deserved, the game could have featured more offense on both sides & been much better for their ratings. A team who has lost a game and did not even win its own division should not be playing for a championship, if only 2 teams can go for the title.
The only positive legacy from that game is that in my view, it probably helped insure the very necessary demise of the BCS and a play-off system to determine the Division I football national champion.

We are 2 weeks from the beginning of a promising season and there's a 6+ page thread on the Rant about a game 4 years ago.

There has never been any reputable evidence to say Lee was academically inevitable

I purchased OSU ticket reserves dirt cheap too so I lost out on money by selling the ticket or going to the BCS title game. I remember sitting in a bar after the SEC championship game and watching OSU feeling very confident they would be in the title game.

Lee would have been crucified by that Alabama defense.

You can still stand on the sidelines in uniform. His status with being eligible was up in the air/unclear

it doesn't prove he was throwing to the right receiver though

or maybe, just maybe, i don't view things so simplistically as you do. being able to complete a screen pass or a dump off to a running back does not emphatically show one's ability to hit open receivers.

cool. he hit one throw over 8 yards the entire game. i guess it's because no one was open. that was your claim. you prove it
Regardless, we all know how this will go. You've clearly spent FAR too much time since January 2012 preparing a case study of gerrymandered stats to somehow show people Jefferson didn't suck for whatever reason. You pick and choose what stats to use in your argument and gloss over the embarrassing portions of his stat line and/or make excuses as to why those portions are embarrassing. But whatever floats your boat boss

So a football factory like LSU is playing in the National Championship and they cannot get a definite academic status of a quarterback that took probably 60% of the snaps that year? I'm not buying that.

Miles froze and quit on the team. Its not like we didn't have experienced options.
We went in to half 9-0, and were going toe to toe with them defensively. Do you suggest to just ditch the gameplan established thru weeks of prep, to go away from what was the model of success for the entire season, to disregard our second half dominance for the entire year. Just forget all that shite and panic and try something completely new.
See, telling your team that their dominance for an ENTIRE year was a falsehood and doing something not prepared for and not playing to the strength of YOUR team.......well that would be quitting, that would be freexing. Activity just for activity sake is generally only impressive to high school girls.

Would you like them to say LSU will only have one QB competing in the game as oppose to two? That only gives Bama the advantage in preparing for the game.

There were no open receivers, there was nothing, before a receiver could get to a break...we had folks all in the grill of our QB. We were physically beat, that isn't a scheme, or QB issue at that point in time.

Getting Lee in the game would have changed nothing.

possibly. but leaving jefferson in definitely didn't change anything. going with the same exact game plan from November and continuing with that game plan after halftime definitely didn't change anything either.

Do you understand team identity.
And we didn't have a QB issue that game. I am a huge JL fan.
When you get whipped like we did up front there is literally nothing to do. There is no magic bullett
