Actually, it can be seen as a compliment. They may be worried that if they paired SEC teams with non-conference teams, we might see the SEC tourney Part II in Omaha.

Looks like the SEC, PAC12, and BIG12 are guaranteed 1/3 of teams represented make it to CWS and each conference can get no more than 2/3's of teams in. ACC is the outlier here with a guaranteed 50% representation.

Tanner’s response to this was stupid. Seeding is not absolutely objective as there are so many variables. They could have easily flipped a few and made it all much more sensible.

Trying to make sure no conference makes up half the field. Fortunately, this isn't softball, where chalk holds 99% of the time.

bullshite. The tournament is seeded for maximum ratings. And rivalries and big name schools and programs generate eyeballs. Remember the elites at E$PN and the NC$$ are running this for maximum profit!
