My wife and I will be coming in town to attend our first Tiger game and looking for suggestions for a nice hotel to stay in and looking for the best way to get to the game(hotel shuttle, taxi, park ourselves, etc...). Thanks in advance for any help.

Stay at the Hilton Capitol Center Hotel Downtown. It is a 4 diamond hotel within walking distance to all of the nightlife downtown and is on the shuttle stop for the football games on Saturday. No worries about driving..... just enjoy your stay in Baton Rouge and GEAUX TIGERS!!!

If $ isn't a problem, the Lod Cook Hotel on campus is another option.

In order to get a shuttle, you need to stay at the Hilton or the Hotel Indigo. Costs are about 250 a night for a room.

Don't stay at The Belle. It sucks.

Or you could stay across the river for less money at the Holiday Inn Express in Lobdell. Drive to Pastime and catch the shuttle. I think the Pastime shuttle is pricey though, so it might me a zero sum gain.

We usually drive in on gameday, then stay in Lobdell.

Best Western off College has suites. Clean and reasonable.

There's nothing available for the rest of the year. Maybe WKU.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We will be coming in for the Arkansas game but wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to book a room because of the holiday weekend. I checked the Lod Cook and already booked. I was able to make a reservation at the Indigo. Seems to be pretty nice and has a cheap shuttle to the stadium. It's a month awaw and still have to get past Auburn and Bama but I can't wait. Thanks again to everyone.

Try Collette's in New Orleans. Just tell them you need a room for the evening. Very friendly people in the lobby.

Try the Hampton Inn in Port Allen just across the river. First exit, I believe, then its to the right. Nice, clean and quiet place stay. Have stayed there twice last couple of years. Easy access to campus, also. Enjoy and

Thanks but no thanks for the Collette's suggestion. I was born and raised in New Orleans and know that's not the place I think we want to spend our night.

As well as being conveniently located, Sherwood Forest Boulevard under the I-12 Overpass is lovely this time of year.

My wife and I stayed at the Indigo about a month ago. The room was small but very nice.

The best place to stay for the game is the Staybridge Suites right by Walk-ons. Probably a 2-day minimum, if you can get a cancellation. Very nice rooms. Walk to the game, etc.
