Doubt it. What if you subscribe to ESPN but not SECN? I assume the SECN will be on a higher tier than simply an ESPN subscription. They aren't going to give all those people free access to SECN.
Correct, but one correction though. There will be no sur-charge to consumers to receive the SEC Network - it will be automatically included in qualifying TV packages and any monetary increases will be in the form of the ("normal") annual rate increases. For instance, in the case of DISH Network, all programmed content from the mid-rate Top 120 and above will have the network @ no additional charge. You are absolutely right that there will be providers who offer the ESPN programming and by extension, the mobile app, but no way will they be granted access to SEC Network content.

They very well may get the network before launch, but Comcast Fabricating a fake website posing as SEC fans can't be a good sign for how negotiations are going so far.

From the horse's mouth, the SEC Network FAQ page:
"The SEC Network will be available on computers, tablets, mobile phones and other consumer devices like Xbox to fans who receive their video subscription through an affiliated provider. The aim is to make this content available to fans anytime, anywhere, similar to how the WatchESPN application works today."

Boom! AppleTV + a family members cable log in info = I'm golden! At least until the ISPs turn up the heat on this net neutrality BS

Fact - ESPN and the SEC Network are one and the same. As a matter of fact, it is also know as "SEC ESPN Network" in some circles. See SEC Network
Currently, ESPN3 is only available online (or via the WatchESPN app) if you have access through an authorized cable subscriber (ex., my access is because Time Warner is an authorized provider, so I get ESPN3 for free). Last fall, I watched all SEC games, including those on GeauxZone or TigerVision when it as broadcast just by LSU, (whatever you want to call it) and non-major networks (i.e., Cox Sports, etc.) on ESPN3 through a streaming live video feed.
ESPN will operate the SEC Network. I would expect that games on the SEC Network will be streamed on ESPN3, just like they have done for the past few years. I am not saying they will be broadcast on TV, but streaming online. There is a difference. Several events are streamed on ESPN3, but not shown over live TV networks. This even applies currently to most LSU baseball games on CST and FSN. I can watch those on ESPN3 via a streaming.
For the past few years, I didn't even buy ESPN Game Plan because I could watch games on ESPN3 on my laptop or IPhone.

You are absolutely clueless and have no idea what you are talking about. Go educate yourself on the topic and quit spreading misinformation.
ESPN 3 plays no role in the SEC Network

I would say you are clueless. ESPN3 is a streaming service provide by ESPN. ESPN will operate the SEC Network. ESPN paid the money to put the network together. Put 1 + 2 together and I think you will get your answer. ESPN3 will stream (not broadcast on TV) football games shown on the SEC Network. They've been doing it for years and will continue to do so.

Think what you will, you have an awakening coming. I've had WatchESPN as long as there's been a WatchESPN - on mobile and, using streaming apps to the plasma @ home.
All it will take to get the right information is to go to the SEC Network website and read the FAQ. You are making assumptions that will prove patently false. Be sure to check back with us and let us dummies know about all the SEC content you're watching on ESPN 3.

They are not going to let people in the back door.
SEC network games will be available online to those customers who receive the SEC Network at home on their cable providers if and only if their provider has agreed to provide the online service.
WatchESPN and ESPN3 are great examples as to how it will work.
A select few carriers have WatchESPN access. Many more have ESPN3 access. But, you still must get ESPN at home in order to get these online services.
SECN will be the same way. You definately need to have the channel at home to get it online. Then, we will have to see if ESPN provides the online access to anyone who gets the channel, or if the carriers would need to have a seperate deal to get the online service.
SECN games will not be available on ESPN3!!!

so for the baseball season will all LSU home games be streamed like this year? I really hope so or I will be very pissed.

I disagree. I think the SEC Network will be available on ESPN3 on WatchESPN app. Already, SEC games last year were available on ESPN3. The SEC network is really an ESPN network station, run by ESPN with a separate name. If you are able to get ESPN3 now via your cable provider via the internet, I would strongly expect that you will get access to streaming SEC Network
Pac 12 Network isn't available right now on watch ESPN. No reason to think the SECN will be.

Direct TVs current stance on the issue is:
We strongly believe every SEC fan should have access to the SEC Network on DIRECTV and customers can rest assured that is our goal as we continue our discussions with the owners of the channel. Contract talks happen on a different timetable with each TV provider, so unlike our competitors, we have really just begun our discussions and hope to have an update on status as we move closer to the network’s launch in August.
Those who have not done so should complete the following form on the SECN's website. Takes about 30 seconds.

I believe that DirectTV's contracts with all the Disney properties (Disney-ESPN-ABC-SEC Network, etc.) come up for renewal next year and the same for Comcast. I strongly suspect that both of them are trying to squeeze some sort of a "bridge" agreement for the interim period to carry them until then. If I had a provider that has not announced carry of the SEC Network by August 1st, I'd be looking at an alternative.

I'll be with U-Verse effective 8/1 regardless of what Direct does. That ship has sailed.

The Longhorn Network is not streamed on ESPN3. The SEC Network will work the same way.

Right. The SEC Network has announced that they will have it's own streaming app, similar to the WatchESPN app, that will be available to those who have the SEC Network as part of their content provider's package. It remains to be seen whether ESPN will continue to air SEC content on their primary channels as will the other networks such as, CBS, etc. but I would suspect that they will. If so, these will be the only ones made available via WatchESPN.

Just own it. In fact, they are giving free access to SECN because it is an ESPN network. I hate it when people don't admit their mistakes.
