Coop shouldn’t be in a category with Little. 1, because Little. 2, because he’s been pretty solid the last few out

But, they know he's only going to throw his slider. I wouldn't expect him to be as effective.

Yeah, after a few batters yesterday they figured out the breaking balls.

Really think Jay sets the day like this:

Coleman - 12 outs (4 innings)
Ack - 6-9 outs (2-3 innings)
Herring - 3-6 outs (1-2 innings)
Guidry - 3 outs (1 inning)

If any other pitcher is needed I think would be Cooper.

All lefties minus Guidry. I think he will feather in Money for a batter or two if he can...maybe Collins for a batter or two. However, he better leave in any pitcher that is throwing strikes and getting outs (even if they are giving up hits and runs or if there is a lefty/lefty matchup).

We don't have the luxury of assuming the next guy up in the pen won't completely blow up.

Cooper is better than tRant gives him credit for.

I agree. Expectations need to be reasonable. Giving up 4-5 runs over 6 innings would be a HUGE win. I'd start Cooper and let him go as long as he possibly can. Somebody is going to have to put 3+ innings together, IMO for us to win, and I think he's the most likely to be able to do it.

To be fair, there are many major leaguers that wouldn't have figured out Hurd's curve ball yesterday. He had total command and plenty of bite on that pitch. Hell, he had command of all of his pitches yesterday.

I've got some bad news for you. Oregon State can hit breaking balls. They were hunting fastballs because they thought it would be effective (it almost was).

But, that team can hit. If you think all we have to do is throw sliders to shut them down you are in for a rude awakening.
