Our S&T coaches at LSU never seem to be under pressure but when it comes to how our players stack up against the rest of the country its not impressive.
Eric Reid's 11'2" broad jump and 40&1/2" vertical are telling me you are challenged in the common sense arena.

there are other lifts and exercises that are more important to on-the-field production than the bench press... the bench press is not nearly as important as many people seem to think it is.
Your right, hands are rarely used in the NFL. DB's especially never use there hands. Wrapping up a 245lbs running back doesn't take upper body strength, jamming a 6'4" WR you don't need upper body strength. Pulling a ball away from countless WR doesn't take body strength. Don't give me that BS about look at his career, that was when he was working out year round. Some in this thread even said it after the season is over they quit working out with Mofit and that's why they put up bad numbers on the lift, well TM7 hasn't worked out with him in over a year.
Here is a challenge for you rantards. Show me the combine stats from all the current LSU DBs in the NFL that start. Then tell me that all around physical fitness doesn't matter.

Bench press doesn't reflect all around physical fitness.
Morris Claiborne: Didn't lift
Laron Landry: Didn't lift
Corey Webster: 9
Travis Daniels: Didn't Lift
Patrick Peterson: 15
Now show me where bench press numbers correlate to cornerback succes in the NFL.

And what the hell is your argument here? You think hand and upper body strength is all measured by bench press?
You just pointed out that Mathieu has loads of film of him using his upper body strength. And then say he hasn't been working out year round. Do you think he won't be working out with a football team in the NFL?

Good point, it isn't an accurate measure of strength. How about our player getting hurt so much in big games? Moffitt have anything to do with this?
Wow, just wow. You realize the game is TACKLE football, not FLAG football, right?
