I think it was preplanned, with all the hype, the setting, the setup...CBS just missed it...but what a great atmosphere it was! I graduated 10 years ago from LSU and i think I committed that night! If they would have stepped on the eye though, ALEM probably would have gone 100 mph into that sea of blue..

Any mention of the "Eye of the Tiger" makes me crazy. LSU fans seem to think this is a logo or song that belongs to LSU. Every high school team in America whose mascot is the Tigers uses this stupid song and logo every friday night.

It is a stupid reference from a shitty movie written by a shitty band. Please can we get rid of the eye???!!!

If, at midfield, there was LSU painted in big block letters and an opposing team would happen to stomp on it then we would have something to talk about.

How is them stomping on the eye any different than 92,000 people screaming tigerbait at them? It's the same amount of disrespect IMOH!!

I didn't mind... It's football!!

Like gang thugs fighting over red or blue bandanas......come on who cares about some painted grass. If we think it is disrespectful, then go kick their butts on the scoreboard.

It's time to grow up.

The eye is symbolic to the upperclassmen, there is another one in the locker room and the underclassmen have to walk around it, they haven't earned the right to walk on it yet. It's a symbolic symbol to the team, nothing more, but like shrines, artifacts, historic figures, etc when they believe something is solely theirs they will fight like hell for it..even if they are severely over matched..
