Wow... Prayers go out to Coach Kragthorpe and his family. Best wishes and I wish that someone would find a cure for this damned disease. I've seen what it can do and it is horrible.

God bless him and his family.. I had a cousin with that disease.

this breaks my heart as a fan, but mostly as a human. esp after his wife and her bout with MS

quote:Yes. I just read about her today in the Tulsa papers. That is more grief then any family deserves. Sad. Very sad.

Sweet mercy, gang. Settle down. This is terrible for Coach Kragthorpe. Prayers to he, his family his and doctors.
Aside from that, we're gonna compete--period.
I'm looking forward to September 3rd! Can't wait to go duck hunting in Texas!

I hate it for our program, but it is not like he won't be there altogether. He is still going to have a lot of input and I am sure Miles will be sure that SK's presence is felt.
Meanwhile, this poor guy has really had some bad breaks in life as of late and deserves the compassion of the LSU Tiger nation. We can only hope that he and his family will find a way to get things back under control and have the strength to live through those things beyond their control.

My wife's father was diagnosed with the disease about 3 or 4 years ago. It did get progressively worse but he underwent a surgical procedure to put some kind of electrodes in his brain hooked to a battery pack. By sending current through the wires his tremors almost completely stopped. It is an experimental procedure and doctors don't fully understand how it works, but my father in law is very happy he underwent the surgery. Hopefully Krags can find some kind of relief.

Prayers to him & his family.

I wish the best for Krags and his family. The best news is that he's still going to be QB coach. He's a good one there and it will be a big help not having to find a new one.

Kragthorpe is one tough muther to go through everything that life has piled on his shoulders --- the fact that he's staying on as QBs coach reflects that toughness. Geaux Krags, Tiger Nation is rooting for ya

truly the worst thing I've ever read on TD.
I don't think anyone has ever written this before! There must be a new "worst thing" every five minutes.

Hey all,
Just wanted to stop in and let the Tiger Nation know that my family is praying for Coach Kragthorpe. Football is one think but this is entirely different. God bless you coach!

I lost my mother to Parkinson's. Upside for Krag: He's young. It is not necessarily debilitating. It's also unpredictable. With luck, he can still contribute to LSU for a long time to come.

Prayers for sure. My Dad has this disease along with Alzheimers. There have been great advances in medications to reduce the advancement and prolong normal activities. It does take much work in regulating doseages etc., but we have seen drastic improvement with these new medications.
On another note, I learned yesterday that a a friend in Shreveport was diagnosed late last yr. with ALS. What a bummer...

Caught the end of ESPN and live their coverage
"LSU's OC kragthorpe is stepping down as OC bc he has parkisons"
I don't see us missing a beat. He will still do his thing minus a few responsibilities. Which IMO will be trumped by the rally play around him. He will still give his input planning the offense. If anything, stud will just look better. People act as if he is just gone.
