its why we should have just fired crowton instead of trying to hire a staff of guys to help prop him up for his short comings
i agree with all of this

he cant be that bad....from the looks of his bio he has a pretty lenghty resume of being a QB coach at some pretty good schools.......A&M, Clemson, UGA, and Auburn.

I dont see how he could hurt Jefferson's development after he seemed so lost last year. Sure he'll be the TE coach, but you have to assume he'll work with the QBs too

I agree Lester. He has got to be an upgrade from Don Yanowsky. Let the ranters rant, we shall see next season.

As a college qb, Ensminger was an above average player and had not he and Woodley split time, he probably would have left LSU as one of the all-time greats.

Say WHHAAAATTT?????

Dude was known as "shite-slinger" by fan corps, and it wasn't because his throwing was "the shite". Not a favorable reaction to his time in the saddle.

Also, would scream at his o-line when he'd get sacked because he held onto the ball way too long. Not many of them liked ole slinger.

GEEEZ. Take off the "Good Old Days" rosey glasses. He wasn't that good.

he coached at Central and West Monroe b/c he wanted to coach his son. Its so funny how people who know nothing about football will sit here and say if its a good hire or not. How the frick do you know? You make 60k a year as a sales rep. He makes 250k a year as a TE coach. He must be doing something right. Coaches change jobs all the time. Know your facts before you post shite.

so you are basically saying that the TE coach making more money (you are way off on your salary figure by the way) is instantly better and a more viable human being than the sales rep making $60K a year based solely on the fact that he was hired ?? good thing the st. louis rams weren't consulting with you when they signed that old bag boy named warner .. so, would you say the fantastic lynn amedee era in 1994 that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at auburn was far better than say, the average joe selling pharmaceuticals for galaxo wellcome or something ?? no earthly way a coaching hire mistake is made ? no way possible ??

you really think if USC picks up the phone and offers steve $500K a year to be offensive coordinator he says "wow, thanks, nevermind though, i really wanna stay here at central high school to coach my son" .. you really think that is the case ?? you don't think daddy wasn't hoping to parlay his kid's recruiting into a coaching gig via a package deal possibly ?

come on .. he was coaching high school football for a reason and it wasn't because he got teary eyed on father's day ..

no, ensminger WASN'T that good .. woodley was better than him and he was a bitter cancer in the lockerroom because he couldn't deal with splitting time with him ... dumbass was too stupid to realize coach mac traditionally used two QBs .. for Christ's sake bert jones split time with paul lyons .. i am gonna go out on a limb and say that jones was a better college and pro QB than ensminger was ..

We should have snatched up Tee Martin from Kentucky as out tight ends coach.

From Mobile AL, won a National Championship at the collegiate level.

Would most likely be a strong recruiter, this seems it would have been a better hire than this Ensminger guy.

This guy was QB coach at Auburn since 2003. Other than 2004, Jason Campbell's senior year, what in the world makes any of you think this guy would be a good QB coach? And after a fast start his career has been dubious at best since 1998 as an offensive coordinator.

List the QB's Aubbie has had during his tenure. . .

Those that believe that somehow Gonzales, who has no OC experience whatsoever, is going to be some miraculous panacea for the inept Gary Crowton would be laughable, if not so sad.

Just because he didnt have OC in his title doesnt mean he doesnt have OC experience

You don't for work for Urban Meyer that many years and not learn something about offense.

BTW, what happened to Tim Salem from Central Florida as TE coach? Good resume' and a former QB/OC.

Ensminger worries me that he's never lasted long at anywhere he's been and having to sink back down to the high school coaching level isn't that impressive, but he's a former LSU QB, has OC experience, should be able to "help out" with QB teaching (If needed or asked to do so) and by any stretch of the imagination should be a gross improvement over Yanowsky.

Plus, ya gotta love those 1982 graduates of Louisiana State University..........

You're a retard. The only reason his kid got a scholarship at Auburn was because his dad was already on staff.
